I just got in last week, coming from NC. I also have a little work to do to prepare the rig. I plan to take a few days and come over early and hit up Moab and maybe the Cruiser museum in SLC. But will likely head for NC Saturday after. Looking forward to it and meeting all of you. I think there is one other coming from NC so maybe we can meet up at some point. @Mignonne

I’ve read this whole thread and saw that many of you have been prepping for >6 months. I wasn’t really anticipating getting in off the wait list, and now I have decisions to make. I’m planning to drive Chester up there. Any wisdom from SAS veterans will be appreciated!

We have 7 years of threads on here for SAS. There a plenty of mistakes made and brilliant solutions.
Besides the Cruisers be prepared for altitude adjustments. Hydrate and don't over do it for a few days.

Sometimes the most difficult fixes can be the simplest issue! Been having LS swap in tank fuel pump issues. Ordered new pump, dropped the tank. Pulled out the old pump and gave a test and it work fine!! After a day of diagnosing electrical found it was the positive connection on the unit in tank. With a little help out at @POTATO LAUNCHER and some good ole southern ingenuity put it back together and the old girl back up and running.

Last year i didnt have my rig, so I brought a megacruiser.

The year before that, I finished paint and body assembly literally the night before i had to leave.

This year I have like 200 miles on this new swap and just managed to get the trans shifting last weekend. I still have a ton to do lol.

Everyone here is awesome and always happy to help out if something goes wrong.

Speaking of six months of prep....
Did a test load, and I'm relieved. Camper is bolted down, strapping won't be an issue, load balance should be good, 2F engine is crated and ready for transport.

If I HAD to leave today, we could provision and hit the road. F-ing win!

Test run. Denver->Flat Tops this past weekend.

New front suspension flex is pretty great for spring-under leafs. On the highway she’s pretty squirrelly - just gotta hang onto the wheel real tight and keep an eye out for potholes.

I still think I have a rod knock or wrist pin issue, or movement in the crank or cam shaft, but Matilda did 450 miles of pavement, dirt, rocks, etc, and aside from being slow up Vail Pass and through the Eisenhower tunnel, she did admirably.

Brakes were acting weird so I need to dig back into that, but that might be it. Gonna send it.

Yep. It's been a fun swap. First one I've heard of in a 4wd.
