Could not score the tamales....but I did get an authentic Texas hickory smoked Brisket........

A taste of real Texas I say!

If thats the case, I should bring more drinks rather than a try at making fajitas. :D

David, its just me that will be there - count 1 thatll be eating and drinking.

Scratch the 7 layer bean dip, and put me down for the appetizers for the group; consisting of assorted chips, dips & stuff. I will have a total of 5 people in our group.

I'll pick up several packs of tortilla's, some dessert, and whatever else I can think of bringing. I may also be able to bring a table. Is someone bringing a large grill? I have a small propane grill that I could bring but it would take forever to cook a bunch of stuff on it...

OK, may be bringing wine or bread or chicken or sausages, something like that.

are we set for cooking stuff on the spot?

oooh, may do catalan mountain bread if I can swing it....

I also plan to bring my very small propane grill. I guess a bunch of small grills could make up a large one. Maybe Brent is bringing Sputnik. I also might be able to bring a lightweight (read, not very strong/sturdy) 4 ft. table if space permits.

pay no attention to the large suspicious looking man from Northern California hovering around the genuine texas brisket

Count me in for 5 people.
I'll be stopping at Costco on the way in Friday Early AM for the fixins to be in the SandChef, and was already planning on Taco's and beers for Saturday night.
We could run out Sat. morning and get the grub for dinner after everyone pitches in a hat, or whatever.
Anyone have a hookup for ripe Haas Avo's? Bring a case!!

Gunna contact my hookup at Firestone for some beverages.
I'll have a big 6 foot plastic table and other gear to use as well.

Might have to get some tri tips to fend off the Nor Cal Horde while we cook.

Does anyone have a copy of the grace to be shared before dinner that is compliant to the Church of latter day Swank?

Is there somewhere local to grab some buns......or do you want Tx fixin's? Beans and Tater Salad, etc?
Oven to heat the Brisket up?

eh! I have a lime tree that is going crazy right now. Don't know what to do with them... Should I bring some? Will trade for avos or Margaritas :D !

Ill take care of the buns (sesame or plain?), a loaf of white bread, and some jalepenos.

E!
bring a huge bag of Limes!

I'll take all you have left over.

either that or we'll bust out the sand wedge and have a chip shot contest!

If it's not too late, I'd like to join (2 people). I'll bring some dessert and my my small propane grill to help with the cooking.

It's never to late...see you at dinner!

David...

No reply on an oven.....I have a coleman oven that sits on a Coleman stove ....do I need to pack it?
We can also heat it on the top rack in a grill.

SnT

hey Guys,

I haven't posted here in ages, but it looks like the wife and I are gonna make SnT, bringing along the in-laws with their 4Runner.

About Saturday Nights Dinner,
I can get ask the mother in law about making some salsa and guacamole if you guys are interested.

Sorry for the late intro here. I haven't done any meets or really posted since the first So Cal 80's meet. The small fishing boat we got in May has really kept us busy.

I like the Firestone keg idea and willing to contribute funds if others are interested.

I'm planning on making a pot of enchilada soup and bringing plenty of rum for mixing some tropical drinks.

I'm also bringing a small grill/griddle and a 6' folding table.

UPDATE ON THE SOCAL 80'S SIGN:
I'm finishing it up, just need to seal it somehow. If I can find the digital camera, I'll post a pic tomorrow so you'll know what to look for when you arrive. Basically, it's an 8' longboard (cut out of 3/4" plywood) painted red with SOCAL 80's written across it in a tiki font. I like the look, but need to get it sealed so it doesn't get all f***ed up in the sea air.

Ed, I'm definately interested in salsa and guacamole, especially if it's homemade. Those are two of my favorite foods. It would be great to have you and your family join us. When do you think you'll be arriving, and from where? There are a few caravans being planned, so read the previous posts to see details.

I hear you on the boat maintenance. I've been spending most of my spare time lately redecking my 22' pontoon boat. No matter how well you plan, there are always problems that pop-up.

I have a table and a side for the propane grill that I will be bringing.

Are two cobblers in order given the number of people we seem to have??? One apple and one cherry? I can borrow a second dutch oven from our troop for the weekend.
