#397! Unless the odds are against me, I'll be there Thursday or Friday. This will be my first time attending the event, is there a meeting spot that the mudders congregate?

Yes---Mile post 6.:D

Hehe, about 95% of the people there will be mudders... Just pull in, find a open spot to camp, and go talk to your neighbor. My first SNT was '05, and I'm still good friends with my neighbor from that event!

Couldnt agree more... I went to my first SNT and didnt know a single person. Left that weekend knowing a bunch!!

With my memory, it's like making 400 new friends every year.

Don't forget to write your screen name on your forehead.

Did all of you reserve a "camping spot" through the reserve america website (or what ever it is)? or do you buy your $10 pass at the gate? not sure how all this works...

Driving down from Placerville to Pleasanton, picking up the sister and her bullie and heading down. Knowing my sister we probably will be heading out of that area around that time.
Peace. Stooked

Bullie as in Bullmastiff? If so I will have to bring mine down too. He's about 12 months now.

I've always just paid at the gate. They have something like 900 "camping spots" available.... It's just a beach though....

yes, never made a reservation, never had an issue.

I don't think 900 is the actual limit, sure seemed like way more than that when I was there in the summer.

That time of year reservations are not a worry. During the summer or on a big three day weekend (labor, memorial or 4th o july) you could very well not be allowed down. Make SURE that you pay to camp not just for a day pass then sleep there. Big ticket if you get caught, which is pretty likely.

My friend was the head park ranger at Oceano Dunes for about 7 years. They have 1000 camping spots each and everyday. You can go to Reserveamerica.com to get a reservation if you have any concerns. Here is a link showing 944 spots still available for saturday night

During the summer months, you can expect to be crowded with other campers however at SnT the beach is relatively empty, UNLESS YOU COUNT ALL THE CRUISERHEADS BY POLE #6!

Wakesetter is right, pay for the camping pass. Illegal campers are fined $270, happened to friends of mine before!
