thats freakin awesome work. You done with the rack too?

havent started the roof rack, and wont for quite some time. Next on the list is bumpers. I just got done building this 04 TJ Rear Bumper Build for my dads Jeep before I started on the sliders, and I'm going to take a break for a bit before I get started on anything else. All this garage time is driving me nuts!

No CEL with just one cat??

I bought the truck a few months back in california and thats how it was. Whats the issue with one cat? I'm still new to these trucks....

Your sliders look good. FWIW, I was thinking that your gussets for lateral strength might be inadequate. When sliding on objects with the 80's weight, just wondering if maybe better support is needed. Mine were built by Frankie at F.O.R. and may be on the extreme side, but just for ideas, here's a pic of mine before install.

I havent seen any of the major companies add gussets like that, so I'm not to worried that they will have any problems. The slider wont "grab" a rock and tweak the slider front to back. Plus these things are heavy enough as it is! I plan on adding the skid similiar to yours. I'm going to run a piece of tubing from the front outrigger to the middle one and then plate it to protect the cat.

I plan on adding holes to the plate for air flow too. I'd think it would get pretty hot under your slider where the skid plate has it completely sealed up.

As long as you're comfortable with the design, that's the important thing. I wanted more support, so I asked Frankie to make them plenty beefy.

The cats make heat, no doubt about it. I've added some holes, mainly to drain off moisture. I removed the original cat shield, which was a dirt and noise trap and they actually dissipate heat better now with the shield (slider skidplate) being further away. The cats get plenty of ventilation and have protection they never had while stock. Your plan to add holes to the skid plate is a good idea - it won't hurt.

Changed the rub rails a little. Now they extend out to the very end of each slider, and they at a bit lower angle. I added a piece of tube on the passenger side along with some plate to protect the cat. I lifted the front of the truck off the ground with the high lift, and had no problems.

Looks nice! I like how they tuck in. What did you do to your grille? Hard to see in the pics.

And Tom I don't think those are beefy enough.

If they break, Frankie's getting a nasty phone call. I do think DiscoveredLC's kickouts and braces are stronger and the rear extensions will be handy in the tight stuff.

x2 - very original with two arms going under the exhaust. I also like that you chose not to use the 4 captured nuts in the frame.

yeah, I figured it would be better to "sandwich" the frame with the mount vs bolting to one side.

If you can bend or mess up your sliders you will be my hero:grinpimp:
Nice work.

What is the final weight?

Thanks. ummmm...... heavy? haha, I dont know, i'll have to borrow someones bathroom scale and set one on there. I'm curious too.

Havent had a chance to work on the sliders much these past few weeks, but I finally got them buttoned up and now they're ready to go on the truck. 3rd coat of paint is drying right now (finally had a sunny day!) and they should be on the truck tomorrow.
