You might have a quite few takers if you decided to build those rear bumpers.
I did enjoy doing it but it’d be a 1 at a time kind of deal for sure! Not having a jig or anything makes it a lot slower going. I’m up for c channel work if people need it though….

A side benefit is all that weight and leverage hanging off the back has squatted some of the stinkbug look! I put my laser level on it before and, lining up with the body line front to back, the rear was about 4” higher than the front. Now I’m about 1.5” (that’s about .047 washing machines for our non-inch measuring friends). I’ll make some slightly longer front shackles and aim for about 3/4-1/2” lower in the front than rear. I had my kids climb in the back to simulate some weight and that’ll leave me not sagging in the rear when loaded.

what might one of these bumpers cost a fellow mud member?

Shoot I don’t even know. The material really wasn’t that much, just a fair bit of time. I’m sure any future ones would go a lot faster since I’m not designing as I go. But idk, had never really thought about making anything like this for someone else.

A hefty Costco trip and pretty much no rake at all! Really smooth ride too with the extra weight. I really need to wash it. Or start on my slider/steps.

I made a bumper for my FJ45 very similar to the OPMACHINE style. I was happy to get one of his but he said his machine shop was busy and a priority. Fully understood… materials cost me under $100. Time was remarkable and lengthy making it difficult to do it for someone else as well

Aaaaaaannnnnnnddd….. The warranty replacement radiator from Mishimoto took a dump. About half the tubes are weeping where they meet the bottom panel. Was slow and hard to find but this week they started really leaking. Lost half gallon of coolant in a 10 minute drive. Another warranty replacement inbound.

Worst part of the warranty is you have to pay for the shipping. I already have to pay for coolant and my time to replace, but then add in shipping (and for the second time…).

New radiator showed up Friday and I got it swapped in yesterday. Pressure tested it first and it held 20 psi for 3 hours. Old one is leaking from all the tubes on the driver side third, top and bottom of tubes. Filled with water and pumped it to 20 psi and it bleeds down to 5 psi in about 2 minutes and then holds at 5. Hard to see the water weeping but it’s there.
