HERE COMES THE RAIN, bummer, going to set back the ground work for my shop till mid week or more. I knew that I was getting close to this situation as the current weather reports started to come lately. however the ground is so dry from the 3 years of little rain it might help to make it work in my favor. Everything is set to go, the wait starts.

Spent most of the day getting all the junk from the construction area. Had a bunch of rain last night so I was not able to do much prep work. Got the temp dog fence up to keep the pooches home. Tomorrow is another day. Trying to get the backhoe guy here to get the trenches done forms next.

Officially broke ground today. Lasers are so nice to get to grade. Backhoe for footings and forms tomorrow. Hope to pour early next week pending inspection.

At the wall, all the footings are dug and ran into a little concrete that was berried from the past that had to be removed. Rented an electric jack hammer and got it all hammered out. Will be doing other things tomorrow and in come the rains Sunday Monday. Spread out the vapor barrier so let it rain, pump out the footings set the forms and pour after the county inspection next week. Man what you go through for the man cave.

Well here we go, inspection today went well. Waiting for tomorrow to get here, 7:00am and the trucks start coming for a total of 20 yards. Be nice to to get beyond this so the weather won't bother us much when we have it framed. Storms are starting to come more often.

Super Buick, I will have a bunch of the progress pics of the pour later today, just finisher the second truck, 18 yards down about 3 to go...

Here ya go started at day break 7am finished about 3pm. These are the shots through day of the progress. Cool today so we had plenty of time to make it look smooth and pretty. Next let it cure then get busy framing this thing. HAPPY BOY I am

Here is the second day trusses were delivered and set ready to roll tomorrow. Also not pictured we got the exterior sheer panels on the exterior. Starting to look like a shop. The final exterior will be Hardy board to Mach the rest of the other buildings.

I think your idea is a good one, however I am using trusses and there is very little room up there for a room. Trusses are a less expensive way to put up a roof and I am trying to get this shop up with the least amount of expense. If you look up above on the second day you will see the trusses being craned over to the shop from the driveway this will give you a better picture of what I am talking about. Best

Storage trusses are available but at extra expense from most truss manufacturers. If you have an extra beam to put up in the attic it makes a great spot to anchor lift points for hoists, etc. That looks great!!!
