I'll hint it here given your willingness to marry the Germans with the Japanese. I have a 2.5 TDI diesel from a Land Rover Defender in a Discovery 2. Simply put, I'm not in love with the D2 but I'm also unwilling to pay Defender, D90 or D110 dollars for that shell.... as Toyota, umm, borrowed the design of their suspension from Rover - the outputs of the transfer case are, like the toyota, on the right side.... thus, I'm going to put a 2.5 TDI motor, 5 speed, and 2 speed transfer case from a Land Rover in a Toyota. :hillbilly:
talk about a marriage made in hell - though from my perspective it combines expensive parts in the way to most reduce the value of both... buy high, work on it a lot, then sell low is my way to riches and infammy.... If I do this, I will lengthen the wb and the tub so that she can use it for her K9 Search and Rescue stuff.

of course, the plus side of this is it replaces my wife's hateful Joke of a Jeep (a JK rubicon that is likely going to be Lemon-lawed)....

That will be an interesting switch over, never herd of that combo. Who makes that engine. With a Tdi you can tweek the ECU to do some pretty amazing things for HP increases. I have done some stuff with the VW 1.9 TDI a real work horse and a brick strong unite.

With this 606 application I am going with a 603 IP which is a mechanical pump and very conducive to mods to make HP. Stock is 175 hp and about 250 torque. Plungers and inside adjustments to the amount of fuel in the IP along with a Alda valve which is a adjustable mechanism to change the rack easy 225hp not sure on the torque but it goes up.

Send along a pic of your engine as I am curious to see what it looks like, sounds like a interesting idea. That is what our hobby is all about different ways and things to make it happen.

It's a land-rover diesel. Made by Land Rover.

I have a VW TDI diesel - they're dead to me, it's a 2009 so the only bright side is our government will get lots of tax dollars in fines and penalties - it sucks because there will be nothing left of VW when all the government suck them dry to pay me back for what will be the world's worse mpg diesel car....
anyway, brighter side
the motor running

I shipped it from UK...

Well I am back at it, getting my final frame, electrical roofing inspection after the holidays and some major rain. Next insulation and sheet rock. Pretty much getting down to the last bits. As for the 40-45 I went over to see Luke at 4x4 labs yesterday and checked on some laser cutting he has in the works so I can continue the project when the building is complete little chunks at a time.

The hardy board is in primer, baby s*** yellow I am getting the whole place (house, and garage) painted when the weather warrants it just to wet and cold to get a good job so I am a little ways off, but making progress...

no, tell me how you really feel about the color of my '40 :flipoff2:

fortunately mine is not yellow - so I won't get all macey about it.

Well the color on my building is not the same as your truck, my yellow has gray in it as of now it is premiered gray and I am rained out for today bummer for the top coat. Sheet rock is going slow for taping a lot of moisture In the air. Win some and loose some. Your truck color is more yellow as I see it if the pics are correct yellow is one of my popular colors. You have done a great job on your rig be nice to have and enjoy. You will use it for sure.

Moving slowly but making progress. As you can see we have the outside of the shop primed and the Sheetrock taped with the first coat of mud. Floor is protected so I can put a seal coating on W/O having to worry about the paint or sheet rock mess. Rain and cool weather has almost brought the project to a stop. However good weather ahead next week should give us the window we need to move forward and get this project completed and get to work on my stuff.

Got my bed floors for both my 45 and 40/45, friend Nik did most of the leg work setting it up. Everything is in 14 ga instead of 16 from the factory no dents here. As my shop building is coming to completion and collecting of parts while it has been in the construction stage things are coming together.

After many hurdles I am getting my final on my shop tomorrow and a front cement apron that will be added to in the near future. Final hookups for the compressor and welder and can start moving in the shop equipment from the containers seems that it took for ever.

Well fellow MUD friends as you can see the concrete went in nicely and finished. It was a perfect day about 75 degrees it will cure nicely. SBG yes I did put in my lucky quarter to see if you are right, moving forward, the county rescheduled me for next week on the final typical with county government...
