@RUSH55
i still haven't seem any rust.

for sure not enough to go through all this!

but following anyway!
Oh it’s there. Not extensive but between the rust and the paint (which still look shiny) literally falling off everywhere I wanted to get it before it gets out of hand… 😬

One of those instances where replacement fender lips would be invaluable. If you could find a sheetmetal fabrication shop and try to keep the entire lip in one piece, someone may be able to roll one out using a bead-roller.

I’m not in the tank building market quite yet. ~225 amp TIG welder is the next big tool purchase.

Believe it or not this pile has good fender flares and even good body doublers etc underneath. Best $500 I ever spent! (Unless you ask the wife…)

Bobm, I’m hoping the rockers are toast under the paint so I can use the ones I bought from you! Those things are practically rock sliders!

Weird deal. The tailgate assist spring is a torsion spring. Runs under that removable angle at the very back of the bed. Also holds it in place (6 sheet metal screws clustered). It then runs across and into a hole. Held licked in the hole by the mystery bolt in the last pic. At least it was a mystery until I discovered the torsion bar. 😬

Almost done gutting under the dash. Took me hours and hours to mount the AC evaporator and no time to yank it. 😮. Question: I assume the large mount on the transfer case is aftermarket. Worth keeping?

Definitely not factory, I’d guess the transfercase is not either?

That is a stock case , It has a tcase saver on it , adds strength to the case , Helps keep case from splitting , Old school xcase to frame mount is the other ,

When i say old school , This is state-of art ? Helps xcase during flexing of frame

Only if you abuse it , early xcases were not as strong as later years , Having a automatic is a plus , If your going to be a hard core wheeler , Then yes you will break it
