The pod I chose sucked big time, the dash mounted one with the lip:

Then I exchanged it for this one: Universal Triple Gauge Single Din Radio Face Pod

I got 2 pods from 'em .. the one that it's the 3 " pod " dash din radio face .. but are not really concern with the quality .. ( aren't the best anycase .. but it's cheap ) but it really don't fit tin the radio DIN space .. anycase ..

Also got the 3 pod ( like individual pods )

they have a great customer service ( at least to me ) but the qualitly or their product it's complete accord with the price .. :D

Still using my ISSPRO pod ..

Sandy in their customer service dept. was quite nice and helpful, especially for a Jersey girl.

Nope. Check your filler neck, and all soft fuel lines in ~10,000 km. If they appear gummy, sticky, or weeping, replace them with viton.

Thanks. No more stickers on this truck...

I just need to black out the rear bumper and the license plate assembly.

My brain is all jammed up with conflicting ideas about paint schemes.

My options:
1) Respray same color (153); easiest, cheapest.
2) Go 2-tone (27G/153); 2nd easiest (don't have to worry about interior, door jambs, etc.)
3) Totally new color.

If I go with option three, the colors I am drawn to are:

Metallic sky blue (861) or suzuka blue (Honda S2000 came in that color), tan (4E9), drab olive, olive brown (code 653).

One 40 and few 60s and 62s I think look amazing (keep in mind I will be fully blacked-out):

The 40 olive brown (653)

Sky blue metallic(?) (861)

"Gun Metal Gray" (8B4) on the '85 FJ60, which is different from "Warm Gray Poly" (153) on the '88 FJ62.

"Drab olive"/ military flat green

Yeah, that 27G (Champagne) with a black-out looks sick...
The Gun Metal Gray (8B4) is so close to what I have, I think I'll end up disappointed with it.

What about these:

My vote is for the 27g blacked out (same color as my 62)
Have allways loved the Sahara Black and Tan vibe too

You gonna respray yourself?

Yep. I am buying a spray gun, a sander, etc. I'm gonna do it right (glass out), and wet sand. Prolly will use the Rustoleum in gallon cans or the stuff you get from Ace.

I am painting mine Champagne......Paint yours another color.

The gray and baby blue oem 62 two tone is nice.

I would steer clear of 3 colors, unless you want to look like a freakin circus mobile.

Two tone plus black bedliner on the typical areas will still look nice.

I like the blue or gray, since you're not considering white.
Shelia was white. I want new (to me).

I may...

And, in case there is ANYONE left who thinks I might be reasonably sane... I am thinking that the side and rear middle panel, the one that usually has the disco stripes, (like photo 2). I am thinking of spraying some paint through some expanded metal mesh to create a snake skin effect. Ideally it would be Gator skin, but there's no easy and cheap way to create that (see last pic). Totally nuts?
