I disagree. All chrome becomes black, and has little to do with the rest of the paint scheme.

Yep. I am buying a spray gun, a sander, etc. I'm gonna do it right (glass out), and wet sand. Prolly will use the Rustoleum in gallon cans or the stuff you get from Ace.

Two tone plus black bedliner on the typical areas will still look nice.

Shelia was white. I want new (to me).

I may...

And, in case there is ANYONE left who thinks I might be reasonably sane... I am thinking that the side and rear middle panel, the one that usually has the disco stripes, (like photo 2). I am thinking of spraying some paint through some expanded metal mesh to create a snake skin effect. Ideally it would be Gator skin, but there's no easy and cheap way to create that (see last pic). Totally nuts?

Do it! No reason not to do/try something just because it hasnt been done/not a ton of feedback on it. And do what you want with the paint, who cares what others think.

X2 about what Tofu said for the bedliner in the typical spots, I've got Durabak on the lower body line/front hood line/lower valence under the grill/and wrapping the tail gate. IMHO it looks really good, and since my 62 is semi blacked, it looks even better.

this combination it's really good ..

OK, these are 31's. 33"s will be a no-brainer, but will 35"s fit? The rears have more clearance than the fronts...

Added to the list!

If 35's rub, I'll hardly ever know, this rig is gonna be more expedition than rock crawler. A 60/62, SUA, with ass intact (non-bobbed) is not exactly the ideal crawler anyhow...

OBA. Harbor Freight. $50 (-20% of coupon). $9 for the 2-year warranty I am sure I will be needing.

I removed the diamond plate base, mounted it sideways to the inner fender, and ran the power cable under the top of the core support. It has battery cable clamps, which are disconnected until needed. This air hose easily reaches all four tires and tucks nicely and securely under the unit and out of the way.

I am going with:
PPG "Essential" one-stage urethane (1 gal.) to code 45228 = $116.36
Hardener (1 gal.) = $45.99
DT895 Reducer (1 qt.) = $18.80
4:1:1 ratio

"Euro" (one side waxed) paper, 18" x 350 ft. roll= $23.95
Tape (have).

Buying a Husky gun adn borrowing (hopefully) a compressor.

If I borrow a compressor, I will return it like I borrowed it, not to worry.
I may just rent one and let them worry about cleaning it thoroughly.

no, the filter and water trap are for the paint. If you use some random compressor it could shoot water and crap through the line, mix with your paint, and give you a phenomenally awful fisheye drippy paintjob.

You officially have me confused. Where would the water be coming from? Paint guns use air compressors last time I checked.
