Mine work fine.

Buy longer fronts from most any parts store.

hey Tofudebeest.
thanks for the correspondence on the questions i had for my hj62 swap.

just wondering what you did for the throttle linkage?
(i used 62 cable and hooked it via a small rod+cable hook off 3fe...)

and what type of mileage are you getting?
ive done 3 tanks at 16-17mpg or about 650km per tank

My throttle linkage...there's just a lot more cable than there needs to be, but I used the FJ62's linkage, exactly like you did.

I top my tank off at 20 gallons (US) and I get about 370-380 miles to a tank if that's my daily commute, so roughly 18-19 mpg or if I go on a trip, maybe 390-400 miles, (upwards of 20MPG). While there are supposed to be fewer BTUs in biodiesel, my vehicle runs noticeably smoother on it (passengers notice it as well), and I think I am easier on the pedal when driving on it (surely a psychological thing). When I go turbo, I wonder what will happen to my fuel economy--for sure I will go through tires more quickly...

I only wish I could have done my diesel swap as quickly as you did, and in a garage, and with the appropriate tools, and with my own know-how, and correctly, and without damaging the body. I don't see any Radio Flyer wagons in any of your photos. It should be a requirement.

By the way, I just titled/registered paid the taxes, and tagged this truck, so I am now driving it legally. They gave me a tag to use until my custom one comes in...

That's what my kids thought, before it took the weight of an entire drivetrain.

Anyone have any ideas for what I could use the carb fan for? What components would need a mild cooling to enhance performance? Could it be used to boost the A/C's performance? Of course I would have to figure out a way to have this thing kick on, since the temp sensor under the manifold is gone.

I don't think so. Sell it to someone who doesn't have a functional one.

Looks cool man, but it seems you're a bit indecisive :flipoff2:

Seriously it looks sweet! I've definitely never seen it before. Give it a shot!

Can you identify these plugs?

White plug above, yellow below, behind glove box, on R.

Yellow plug and white (below), also behind glove box, on L:

Under passenger and driver seats are these. Were heated seats an option?

Recent upgrades:

George Scolaro (TaskLED)'s dome lights, the new ones, front and rear, very bright and white not yellowish like the festoon bulbs, WAY brighter than the PepBoys LED festoons. Worth the $.

Inverter, same one as IH8MUD Forums - View Single Post - Best Mods under $50... (thanks klinetime574), but apparently, the 62's ashtray is narrower than the 60's, so modification to the metal tray (that the ashtray slides into) was required, but nothing big. In the end, it is a snug, solid fit, with about an inch all around (behind the panel), so nothing will prevent it from cooling property. I'd say DAMN close to perfect fit. I may fill around the face, for an even cleaner looking install.

And a close up, you can see how the cooling "fins" make for a nice place for the tray guide to grab.

Husky 2D 4 watt Cree torch ($24!), mounted to the A pillar via a pair of Nite Ize clips. THE brightest torch powered by 2D cells, BLOWS AWAY the 4D Maglight.

And for tighter spots/back up, the Husky 3AAA 3Watt Cree torch ($14). I count a total of 12 (or 13, depending on how you count) mods to this photo, some subtle and free, some big $.

Wait a second! Are those really coin holders from the center console taking up valuable switch spots? I've run out of places to put switches and am jealous you have so much room

Yeah, but only because I mangled the regular blank ones. It's not like I can put coins there, unless I am on a REALLY steep incline, and then just for a few seconds. I'll try that next time I go wheeling...

I'll put switches there eventually. The power antenna is long gone. I have the NAPA spring bottom, 3-part one, in black. Love it. One spot will we for a winch, the other for fog lights/spots.

You hate the gaylords? Make that white silver and see how it looks. Not nice, peperoni pusher.

I like the three tone idea.... I haven't seen one like that ever.
i too have used the radio flyer to drop a tranny on a SOA for the h55f swap!!!! gald to see great minds think alike.

I've been busy today...

Thanks Amaurer! I just need to resize the threading on the rod, and my eject/kill button will be finished.

Thanks Kurt! In a week, you'll barely see any yellow. Getting those bushings in those shocks by hand was not exactly easy...
