Hi Guys, I’m fairly new to the forum and not a member of the CSC. Been mostly stalking tech advise on ih8mud for my Toy and looking for some hard to find parts. Is this an open run or closed to non-CSC members? I’m thinking I was thinking I would like to attend the run with some fellow enthusiasts.

While I certainly encourage you to join CSC, you are more than welcome to join us. You are also welcome to come to the meetings as a non-member.

Looks like lightning sparked a fire at New River Mesa Tuesday evening. "The River Fire" has burned 1800 acres so far. Fire officials don't seem that concerned since it is burning towards the north and east, away from civilization. I'll keep an eye on it. Hopefully, they won't close the FS roads in the area and we are still a go on the 21st.

 Fingers crossed...

hey @Somebodyelse5 wondering if your planning on going on this run. We could practice our HAM skills
I’d love to but unfortunately I’ll be in NC for work. Did you ever pick up a mobile radio or are you still running the handheld?

I just got my license, and I'll have my handheld HAM. However, I have no skills to speak of
What’s your call?? Radios are fun, i’m pretty comfortable with using them on repeaters now, if you need any help

Still on the handheld. A real radio is on my to do list still. I’ll for sure be hitting you up for advice when the time comes.

I'm open to suggestions from those more experienced with the area.

I believe you can take Table Mesa Rd. to the west and find some trails but I've never done them. I'll do some research and see if there are any other trails close by so we can keep the meeting point the same.

West from Table Mesa Rd. trails are Raw Deal, "The Ators" = Terminator, Annihilator, Predator, and a few others.
Raw Deal is a short trail with some waterfalls, a very challenging "The Reef" which has an easy bypass, and "The Back Door" which is optional. The original loop is blocked by Cemex.

There was a OHV way to get to Rock Springs from Table Mesa Rd on the west of I-17, but I think it was blocked off at the top a few years back. Most of it is still accessible.

The Gillett town-site is near here, where the Little Squaw River joins the Little Agua Fria.

Thanks @doc_random. It looks like Tip Top was closed in April unfortunately.

I was thinking of Crapshoot or Turkey Creek trail as the alternative. Have you (or anyone) done Turkey Creek recently? Looks like the last club run was March 2018. Nice thing about Turkey Creek is that it ends at the world famous Cleator Bar and Yacht Club.
