Wow.

So... @Canyonero... @MScruiser... @mcgaskins...

200's and their owners dropping out.

Anyone else???

:( I shall play taps for each of you if you go...

200's are dropping like flies Andrew. @mcgaskins, would you like to share with the class? :)

Don't out @mcgaskins !!!!

He's done nothing, NNNOOOTHING.

Ummm...it all happened so fast! :D

Last week I was perusing Expedition Portal and saw the nicest built 2017 Tacoma freshly listed, so I floated the idea by the owner of a possible trade for my 200. He was interested, so we met up Saturday and made the deal! The Tacoma has about $50k of the nicest parts you can buy installed on it including an AT Habitat and full Goose Gear interior buildout with National Luna fridge, fully adjustable Icon and Total Chaos suspension, CBI bumpers and armor, etc. etc.

HOWEVER, I did have a backup plan. Last week I did score an amazing deal on a 200 (2008 LX570 with higher miles but perfect service/owner history), so I'm getting that shipped here and it will replace my DD. So I'm not leaving the forum just changed up the fleet a little. :)

I was already in the mountains, so I went wheeling immediately after taking possession. The suspension is phenomenal!

Soooo badass!!! Congrats on the trade!

Very cool. I have a Tacoma Pro in the stable myself, so this '17 with the Habitat definitely caught my eye when it first popped up on Expedition Portal. I went back a couple days later to look for the Habitat (it had also been listed for sale separately from the truck), but it was nowhere to be found! So this explains it. Congrats!

A few of us PRO owners here

Woohoo :)

@mcgaskins so does that mean you're gonna rock the built up Taco or the mostly stock LX at the next LCDC? ;-)

I owned a 1985 Toyota 4x4 had manual locking front hub’s , put 150k miles on it. Never anything but regular maintenance, sold it in the paper had all records 1st guy that showed up looked at the records and paid cash. You could not kill that 2 liter 4 cyclynder

Perfect time to watch this CLASSIC attempt by Top Gear to kill a Toyota Hilux (basically a Tacoma)... :hillbilly: Totally amazing what it survives!

Yup I had some great 80s and 90s Toyota’s

They don’t make them like they used to. I wish I could get a hilux from Mexico. Amazing hilux doesn’t even compare to my bloated low quality tacoma.

I am sure my 17 pro won’t last like what yours had. I am on my 2nd Tacoma

I had a 1997 Tacoma manual back in the day and loved that truck. I was so very close to pulling the trigger on a 17 TRD Pro 6MT this time around, but after borrowing my father-in-law's 17, I just couldn't do it. Too many compromises for me to really get behind it. I do love the way they look though.

I be honest I am thinking about trading my in for the new range rover, the LC is nice but Not enought of modern technology. My parents bought a crv touring and it has lane assist :-) I tested it and it did works on the freeway. It had power rear door. Automatic dimming head lights for less than half of the LC prices.

Off road, none of those three doodads matter.

On road?
Unless I'm disabled and can't flick my fingers an inch...or turn my head...I like controlling my lights, wipers and lane movements. Heck, I disabled my parking sensors as soon as I realized I could & haven’t turned them on again except by accident.

I wouldn't swap my LC for those things...but everyone gets to make their own priority list.

After having driven a 6,500 mile roadtrip this summer, I would really like a Landcruiser with some driving aids like lane assist and a better radar cruise control. But, as you said, different folks have different priorities.

Wow. I'm an 80 series owner (DD) that accidentally stumbled into the 200 series forum. So forgive me when I say that I threw up in my mouth a little when I read a request for lane assist. I'll go back to my hole in the 80 series section to search for "which suspension is best..." and "how to fit 37s..."

My apologies for interrupting your day.
