Seen in town. Upside down bezel, but still pretty cool. What is it?

Friend has been talking about this 40 in the neighborhood, but could never get a pic. Today he caught it! Anyone here the owner? Wondering what the experts can tell it is. All I know is the bezel is wrong way down and the driver parks in the same spot...

Interesting since most of mine are lower on the left side.

The cruiser marked it spot letting everyone else know it's his. It also has the ultra rare anti thief rear hatch.

Those lights started with the 70 model. Replaced the reflectors on the 68/69 models. 75 turn signal changed. Those included a side marker light so apron light was dropped.

My 70 has rectangular fender lites, I believe those are earlier.

I think someone's confusing apron marker and fender/turn lights.

The rectangular turn signals replaced the round style in early 69. The 3/69 shows rectangular lens. Some time in late 68 or 69 the round style ended. Hard tell when since pre 3/69 listings were dropped decades ago. 1/75 the square style started so this cruiser has both correct turn signals and side marker lights.

Another question, my lites on the fender are blinker & running, do you know if the older, round ones, had dual filament bulbs ?

I’m not sure if the ‘oil stain’ belongs to the 40, looks more like a Ford or Dodge stain….. maybe the Land Cruiser, no mater what year or years it is, can cover the stink
