I put on the ~20 year old hub caps that matched sheen of 16" wheels. I found 3 very loose. They'd surely fall off, first pot hole or tail rock bonce. On close inspection, I found the tabs, which each have three little nipples that hold in wheel worn down. The center nipples more than others.

So I came up with a very simple solution.
I use my Rapidfix glue and built up the mass on each (about 18) worn down nipple. Worked great and holds tight in wheel.

CB placement and power source.

CB will just be used on long haul and at HIH. Then stored away all other times. So only temporary location and hookup is needed. The idea is to make convent to use and remove.

To that end, I bought a cigarette male power adapter, I'll solider to CB power wires. Then simply plug in 12v outlet in bottom of console box. CB radio can just sit in console on stand by. Then be puled out and place in cup hold when better access to dials and speaker placement is desired. The cup for AHC control is use to hold mic. The antenna is just stored across second row floor. The rubber boot for magnetic base, is in back of drive seat netting. Boot must be place on magnetic base before contacting body paint.

What do you think, workable plan?

Great solution for loose hub caps, if it holds. I've been bending the spring rings into a pentagon to give some more pressure. Will try your method next.

Trick is to get clean to give glue a chance. I've use the glue on lots of stuff now. Plastic Fan shroud bolt holes, Air pipe nipples, fender supports (GF MDX) and more. So far not one has let go.

Here's the baking soda or bone supper glue hack. Rapidfix claims to be better and not baking soda IDK. But I do know, the bottles are very convenient.

Incredible thread! Now it's time to remove that veneer trim :)
Not my call. ;)

That's up to new owner. It has some blemished on veneer. If removed, interior is a stone cold 10 out of 10. It's very clean and even smell great. o_O

Geez I hate CBs. I wish clubs would move away from requiring them for club trail runs and move towards two way radios. Sorry to go somewhat off-topic.

What's the plan for getting the antenna cable outside the vehicle? Have you tried tuning it?

It's has magnetic base. So just going to pull through window and stick to roof when needed. It can just set-upright off floor inside, but reception would be limited.

I don’t think I would ever normally buy a car that color, but this LC looks amazing! Nice work !

Great work Paul. I wish I was gonna be at HIH this year to see it.
Truck looks even better in person. Paul did a phenomenal job. Picked it up today and I couldn’t be happier. In route to HIH now.

Thank you all. Especial you Brian. Taking my Son and I to Shanahan's Steakhouse for Dinner was a show of real class, and VA hospitality. Yummy!

A few last minutes teaks.

I had a new set of Denso TT spark plugs on the shelve. About and hour before I planed to head to airport I decided to install them. You may recall earlier in the thread, I inspected and re-torque them to 18ft-lbf. But something I've been considering just recently, is that the crush washer having been crushed will not seal as well as new. So to this end, I elected to replace all 8 spark plugs with the new .4mm Denso TT's I had.
Found one gap of the 8 new USA Denso out of spec. These start at 1.mm (regulars at 1.1mm)

I did find a tiny bit of oil on some washers/gaskets, upper thread and in spark plug tubes. This was surely some leakage at spark plugs gasket. So happy I did replace and torque all the way up to 18ft-lbf (factory spec 13ft-lbf). Should be sung for next 60k, I hope!

I also measured front for T-bar adjustment. Found LH at 21 1/2" RH at 21 3/8". Then realized I only had 1/4 tank of gas, other measurements where with full tank. So headed up to gas station and topped off. By then the flight had landed so I headed to the Airport to pickup Brian and Don, not having time to remeasure. But it handled fine on HWY, so no concerns.

Surprising the MPG was indicating in the mid 17 range. Which with 33's on was likely about 5% better than indicated. Impressive!

Have a great road trip and time at HIH guys!

Bye Bye Merlot.

Next is GaryBeard 06LC and GrayGal 07LX that are waiting on me in the driveway now..

But first I've got to get to some locals and mud members rigs that have been waiting on my repairs/service. Both 100 and 200 series.. One is in the shop now waiting on me! Whitelighting SC, supper off-road built with about everything one would imagine on it. You like the name Ryan!.. LOLO

Damn you! Now I am debating changing my spark plugs tonight before leaving to HIH tomorrow morning at 4am. Among other things I need to do......🙈🙈🙈. I’m at 107k 🤔🧐

If spark plugs have never been replaced or not re-torqued, I would. Just takes 1 hour. Loose one can blow out the head taking threads with it. 107K is not really a lot, But number of cool down cycles has more to do with walking out than miles.
