😡😢

Since you have it apart I recommend RTVing those knock sensor caps closed. GM eventually made a TSB for that since they get moisture in them. Especially the rear one.
Yeah I have had them go out on Chevys before and have done that. Probably should here too. The little foam piece at the back I think is a big culprit of keeping crap in there. I got rid of it here. On my old 2500 it was filthy and packed full of leaves and dirt keeping water in there, rusted out the back one. These caps fit pretty nice and I have silicone grease on them. No rust or evidence of water intrusion when I had the engine apart.

Looking forward to escaping these diesel prices for a week.

So project update. Wasn't getting above 18 psi out the turbo and it pushes a minimum of 38. Tried turning up the pump and nothing. Pinched the wastegate hose and still only 18. Took the intake hose off and you could feel a slight play on the shaft with using your finger. So break in has been postponed till I get another turbo cause I need those rings to settle in with boost they will normally get applied to them. So I might have about 500 miles on the engine when I get to SAS that's including the break-in 200 and the 166 miles drive to Ouray lol

Motor is running good again, but now I'm getting a grinding noise at speed. Sounds like it's coming from the rear, it only happens when the drive train is slack.
If I'm on the gas or compression braking I don't here it !
I'm all ears on what to look for this morning !!!
I'm thinking drive shaft or u-joints, sure hope it's not in the rear end !!
I was reluctant to run such a hard trail ( Fordyce Creek ) right before SAS. Dam it was fun though, good Friends, good times and hard technical trail 😍

If anybody needs a spot at the KOA for this event I have one from Aug 1-Aug 4 (tent site 55) I’ll let go at a cheap price (we all know this KOA isn’t cheap).
Just let me know if you’re interested. I can’t make it. I’ll switch it into your name if you want it.

I haven't seen much chatter regarding mudship plans or needs yet. There's a handful of us coming from the southeast that can move stuff. I'm sure others from other locales are willing to do so as well. If anyone needs stuff moved, speak up.

Done some Trails in the past few weeks as Argentine, Hayden and Chinamans Gulch, CO (a few more less advanced ) couple more scheduled before SAS6, all has gotten a little tougher since last year.
Love Medano (easy), but was closed when trying my 4th time, dunes are no problem. If you REALY like a challenge, Chinamans is (Poughkepsie on steroids, just saying), much tuffer than Steelbender, Moab for sure. I compare it to, a little like to the Rose Garden Hill,Moab IMO, but even more.

I'm catching up to the ability of my rig by driving it, we're now starting to match up. Thanks so much Marco C @rover67

Clean seats, are you really Driving it. Safety is first but at borderline.
(Don't look at mine)

Love Trrails, Overlanding ready to go, have fun and run.

Been getting the 60 ready for it’s long road trip to Ourey Co.
installed the roof rack and travel box as well as the bike rack.
Doing a Knuckle rebuild. And hopefully swap out the tranny.

My favorite job to do. Honestly nothing is more satisfying then a knuckle job. Now that you completed it, you will win the one of the nice knuckle kits from Kurt. Last year we did the knuckles on my 60 and Zac's 80 and ended up winning the kit.

Since buying the OZ Tent 4 I realized this thing is huge LOL I took the old aftermarket rack I had and cut it down and my buddy Bob @brooksfj60 helped me re weld the sides so now the tent has a nice flat spot on the roof rack and we still have storage for sleeping bags, chairs and whatever. One more step closer to being ready

Alright!!
Kick Ass!
Love the mods for our stuff.
Always good ideas around!!
Looks like a pretty cool tent you’ve got!
See ya soon!!

Swapped out the rear drive shaft for my spare definitely quieted things down. There still some noise but going to run with it for now

I gave up my plans to rework my stock harness and remaining electrical and called PSI the other day for a quality ready-made engine harness for my specific application. Ouch - but oh well. It should be here tomorrow. With the "minor setback" of bending a rod I needed to free up capacity. I picked up a new rod bearing and head bolts yesterday. The stars are starting to come back into alignment. Failure is not an option.

I was supposed to be going to NJ right when we got home for work, but that got cancelled so maybe we'll be able to extend the trip a few days.

Can't wait to see if this thing actually runs down the road after all this work hit the road.

Our Oztent was the best purchase of 2022 so far. Can't wait to use it again at SaS.
