Looks like there is a good chance for monsoonal patterns to start on Monday for Ouray!!
Here in NM, we also have fires burning all over and today is a very smoky day in the neighborhood, we are forecasted for the same patterns to begin this weekend... 🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️
This is for Ouray:

Maybe we all need to see our rigs covered in mud this year!! I know BIG Betty likes the mud, she keeps getting it all over and not wanting to let it go....

Oh BIG Betty 😍

Sad indeed! Owl Creek Pass is one of my favorite “relax” routes.
Agreed, CD. We drove it last year. Some really nice homes in that valley, too. Bummer.

Same for us. We have a couple cool, somewhat hidden campgrounds up there too. Some years after SAS we'll go spend a night on the way back to Denver to wind down a little bit.

Newest map update shows the fire has now jumped the Owl Creek Pass road FYI. Courthouse Mountain is on fire as well - that's the big spire on the cliff wall that's visible from Ridgway. That info isn't on Watch Duty yet, but I saw some photos on social media.

Ugh, so sad. Stopped at the bottom of the pass at the creek last year for lunch and to soak up the scenery.

Do we know yet if the breakfast taco truck will be there this year?
Meal planning, and really hoping it will be that is so nice to have.
100% agree. Sure makes it nice.

I will have to say I was really disappointed in their showing last year. SAS8 was their first year (right?) and a breakfast burrito was $10. I think it was around $18 and not as big last year.
I get prices going up but that felt like gouging a captive audience.

I just found out that Marchio’s Food Truck moved back to Fort Collins.

I’m going to see what KOA can do for us… or any locals know of a good food truck I can call on for last minute?
@Mike Shull ideas????

I apologize and will let you know what I find out ASAP.

Hmm Mattiv nor I remember then being that much. I think I would have balked at that, I’m pretty tight.

They were $13-$15 last year is what I remember…
With tax and tip it was right around $18. Just a breakfast burrito, I remember because I was pretty bummed as the year before I had one every morning and had a couple dinners too.

Not trying to stir anything up, just making a personal observation.

Just saw this so I guess the other branch of this conversation is moot.

I am still waiting to hear back from KOA but they do have a bakery:
HummingBird Bakery
Small mountain bakery located at the Ouray KOA serving handcrafted sourdough, pastries, breakfast, and locally roasted Telluride Coffee Roasters coffee. Open Friday–Tuesday 7–12 ish

I will see about Wednesday and Thursday...
