40 died waiting on the road construction traffic signal on the MDH. It had started idling rough going down into Silverton and hoped I’d get lucky and make back into Ouray. After graciously being towed back to Ouray (Thanks again!!!) , I determined it wasn’t getting any spark using timing light. Pulled the distributor cap and the Pertronics sensor was black/burnt. Luckily had a spare, and quickly had it swapped out. It now starts and runs fine for a couple of minutes and then starts missing and idling rough. I took the distributor cap back off and raised the rotor about 1/8” up the shaft, reassembled and it keeps doing the same thing (runs fine then starts missing). it seems maybe the rotor is too short for the cap although I don’t know why it’s ran
fine all this time and now just started acting up. Open to thoughts or things to try!! (and stranded at our Vrbo in Ouray)

(I’m running a sniper, but I’m pretty sure it’s ok as I can see a steady stream of fuel flowing when the engines running. guess it could possibly be a O2 sensor?)

jumping between 12-15. definitely not as steady as normal…. it will run at higher rpm, but still misses a bit.

As I’m pondering tonight… Im wondering if I might have a small exhaust manifold gasket /header leak from all the flexing on the trails today

If not, have you tried Proffits Cruisers located about one hour north of here. Delta, Co. They have pulled me out twice over the years.

Appreciate it John, they have bailed me out too.
I’ll call them to try have a backup plan as as of now I have one coming in the morning…

I appreciate all of the support with my throttle issue. I have a few things to try today that folks recommend.

I am not sure if driving up 550 to log run files was the best thing to do but I didn’t let Monday go to waste. There is a ton of hiking trails around and here are a few of the hike above Porphyry Gulch and area.

Yes the burritos are great! Green chiles are mild but tasty. A little greasier than last year.
The cinnamon rolls look killer but I don’t think I can drive and eat one.

Yes. Amazing breads and pastries. Good breakfast burritos ready to go. I recommend add hot sauce.
She does a nice job on coffee drinks.
