Seam sealed it and did a quick weld through primer. (not well haha) I still need to blend out where I welded the rockers so I didn't want to use my high build primer. Plus I want to install the seat and then tac the seat bracket in then welding it fully after taking the seat back out. after Planing on taping/masking everything off and then painting the almond rustolium white. But hey NO RUST HOLES in the floor pans. and all the body mounts are solid now.

Update - I am now off paternity leave... man those 5 weeks went fast. I got lots of baby time though. Margot is a very cute baby and I am stoked to be A dad. Makes me really excited to take her on adventures in the fj55. I am hoping to prime the floor pans and rockers this weekend or some time next week. I need to have a warm enough and dry enough few days in a row. I did buy some door jam weather stripping. Thanks @charliemeyer007 for the tip. if it is too cold to paint I at least still have 1 thing i need to do before. I need to fit my seat brackets back in.

Rockers still need work where I welded them to the pillars. I sat the seat in this weekend and tacked the passenger bracket in to make sure it was in there even. It looked good so I pulled it out and fully welded it in. I sanded and then I primed and painted the pans. Used my left over tpi high build primer and then Used the rustoloum almond paint and its so close to factory match. I also painted the part of the hood that I welded up and that looks really really good. no more rust holes in the pans now thank goodness. I am gettting excited to get her going again. I still need to weld up the area in the wheel well where the rocker meets the whel. And the front of the rocker steel needs some help underneath but its very close.

I am heading off the island and I am going to exchange my gas cylenders at a aRch 3 gas shop. Its the one I go to. wish one was closer. I have not figured out what I will do with the b pillar vinyl yet. it came off in pieces unfortunately on both sides.

So I guess my next steps after I get this all buttoned up I am going to tackle the rear quarters and the area under the tailgate. There are quite a few rust bubbles and pin holes through that area that I know I will need to weld through. @wngrog s old Warthog build has inspired me to just crank through and get the rest of the rust patches done. It was the only Muletta red fj55 example I have seen thus far. its the color I might respray in. ether that or the green. I was going to just live with it for now but if I am going to do a major respray I need to have fresh metal there. I mean its only a few weekends of work for me. I just gotta buy some more 20 gage sheets.

Whats yalls vote on color? or do you like the Italian baby crap brown (I don't hate it but its not my favorite)

I think you can do better than "Latte"
I always liked the two-toned schemes on pigs.

Id still do two tone dont worry. Do you mean the brown or the muletta? What colors on the 55s speak to you?

Not crap brown!
I like Muletta, but I really think the green would look great

I think the green would look great too. It would match the green fj55 on Margot's onesie you guys got her! I gotta convince Rachael. She says I already have a green car with the samurai. but its tropical turquoise

What @SC-Cruiser posted above was exactly what I was thinking and then I scrolled down and saw it.

To my eyes, that color scheme just fits the lines of the truck.

Fashion green and Cygnus white or,
BROWN! And Cygnus white would be my votes.

Calf Shyt Brown for the win!

My all time favorite 55 colour.

I think I am going to switch to green. I love the brown but the land cruiser has been repainted by somebody thats worse at painting than I am. Its a variation of the original color as viewed under the fuel cap and in some other places. as a photographer and art teacher I am not sure I dig the earth tone of the brown as much as a vibrant red or a green. On top of all that My favorite fj40 color is the Rustic green. I liked the green that was on the 1976 that I got the 2f and 4 speed out of too. it was a little more emerald.

Being that the 55s rust away so fast I don't really want to rock a patina paint blend 55 where I live and spend 400$ on fluid film every year. I have welded up much of the lower part of the body and much of the roof has spots that I need to sand down and redo so I feel at least the color part I am redoing. The white looks fine at least in the important areas. I will probably respray the hood and fix some slight hail damage that has bothered me since I noticed it.

I have been also thinking of the seat color when I redo them. I really like the coral that I did from cruiser corps on the fj40. I am trying to decided If I want to redo the seats in that. Might be tuff with the black accents of the 55 dash and door cards. Door cards on the rear doors are trash though. I might see about some masonite and finding vinyl to re do them too. Might be cool If I can color match to coral seats... I know you can get more material from cruiser corps. anyways if not coral Id do the gray.

if you're going this weekend, the braun 500 lumen magnetic swivel/foldable flash light is half off this weekend. I'm a fan of those.
