Right! I need to. I will eventually get out to Colorado. Like I said my brother lives out there. I still need to brave a drive off the island to Avon about 40 miles away. But takes an hour and a half with the ferry. Hoping to accomplish that this summer. Its a little mini goal. I am waiting on that soft top before that just so I dont get caught in rain.Still waiting on you to drive that 40 to colorado for a photoshoot.
Top off, windshield down for 2000 miles, epic![]()

All you need is a kefiyah, beard, and a couple Lewis guns....I always feel like I am SAS in North Africa when I'd drive on the beach without the top and the windshield folded down.

Get @theglobb up here later in the summer, I’ll come down from Avon, and we can finally have that crusty, rusty surf and turf cruiser meet up. Since you guys take such nice photos it can even be upscaled to “Film Festival” statusYeah man. that sounds like a fun time. just let me know.
That would be a good time! I would not mind a meet up in avon either! I know @theglobb is going to start his rust repair soon so we gotta get him on the action sooner than later. I do know he has access to a cool first gen 4runner too though if his troopy is under the knife. I would be sure to take lots and lots of photos too! I just got a hasselblad SWC that I am excited to shoot this summer.Get @theglobb up here later in the summer, I’ll come down from Avon, and we can finally have that crusty, rusty surf and turf cruiser meet up. Salt Wagon is looking so good, and must be so much fun to ride around the island in.
I have a work project that will have me out of town from early June to mid July. After that I’m wide open. That would be a good time! I would not mind a meet up in avon either! Thanks the Salt wagon is looking fantastic. a few small things I still am waiting on. I will have a fan shroud soon and some quick release hinges. I want to tackle the rust in the rocker panels this summer. I just gotta get this dang soft top shipped they keep saying its ready to ship but still has not been picked up... Kinda frustrating as I think they just keep saying the next day it will ship when they have no idea. But still pretty much checks out with what everyone else is saying about soft tops from Troa.
I dont go back teaching till August 8th so I should be good around then. Just let me know!I have a work project that will have me out of town from early June to mid July. After that I’m wide open.
I also contacted albert at Troa again as I never got a shipping notification as they said would on monday. Now they are saying the same thing For today. We shall see. He says its all packaged up.
Nice! that is really funny actually! Maybe I should contact them again. You bought yours the day after me. We almost bought a house and I was worried about the shipping if I moved actually. Its funny how our cruiser projects always seem to be running in parallel. I placed my TROA order on 4/20 and it shipped two days ago. Same color and everything. Hoping it gets here sooner rather than later. We'll be moving on the 25th. Great to see all of the progress with the engine swap and everything. Keep up the good work!
My 86 4runner was the car that got away! I wish I had kept it. I was a little too broke and too inexperienced when my 350,000 mile 22re spun a bearing (I think) it just started knocking real bad.. I wish I had just taken the time and saved money and fixed it myself. I would love to find another one! I was more into off roading back then. I installed 529s in this one and a super stiff ome 2 inch lift.I've only swapped or helped swap a couple myself. One was the long block in my first 1987 4Runner and the second my cousins LT in his mid 90s Camaro. Both were many years ago though. I've been wanting to rebuild an engine someday. Might get the chance with my F135 if it doesn't quit smoking so much.

Alright, sometime between mid July and early August. I feel like summer is gone before it has even started. Let’s shoot for November when there’s no mosquitoesI dont go back teaching till August 8th so I should be good around then. Just let me know!
Oops... didn't catch me soon enoughI know @theglobb is going to start his rust repair soon so we gotta get him on the action sooner than later.
Oh it’s not as clean as your thinkAlright, sometime between mid July and early August. I feel like summer is gone before it has even started. Let’s shoot for November when there’s no mosquitoes
Anytime we can add some more salt to the fragile panels would be great. And it’s all down hill for @FJBen, so maybe he’d show up and take some rad photos with his soft top. His rig is too clean, and needs a little FE2O3 to fit in, but would be great to have him on the OBX
