I dig this top. And Abe is a super stand-up guy, great to work with.

Just adding another plug for Abe's tops. Great service and support, and a great product!

Man that looks good!

Abe just a general thought I would think that most people would want a tan and if I was in your shoes I would really stock up on them and some black ones this is just my thought......

Hey Jamie,
Your instincts are spot on regarding colors. Tan & Black are by far the two best selling colors. I actually do stock them & make them in far greater quantities than the other colors, but they are tough to keep in stock given my lead times. But I learn a bit every time, so I make an even larger % than the others these days!
Thanks,
Abe

Abe, are you still working on another run of soft tops? Do you have any for sale yet and what will the price be?

I am still working on another run, but I'm struggling to get the next batch of Canvas tops started to be honest. Issues & delays, etc... But yes, I am working on them. On the bright side, I finally have my premium, "Colorado" top finished & am getting the first production tops out on them. I've only got black in the run right now, but hope to have a few tan tops in the next few weeks. A few of the material details:

Sunbrella Plus Fabric (extreme UV & Rot protection, can be scrubbed wit bleach, etc... with no risk to the color or fabric) & color matched Sunbrella Piping. Can be seam sealed with Sunbrella seam tape & an iron, but I don't do this before sale. A customer with extreme needs could do so, but it is overkill for most applications.
Gore Tenera thread (made by WL Gore, inventors of Gore Tex) - Impervious to UV or Rot, etc... as above, will last for the lifetime of the fabric it is sewn to, without blowing a seam (assuming no abuse or physical damage, etc...)
Welded & Powder Coated D-Rings
1" Nylon Webbing made for outdoor use
#10 YKK Marine Mates Zippers & pulls
Regalite windows
Sail Track channels for the windshield/door channels (stronger than stock, no chance of rot, vastly superior cut resistance, etc...
Leather reinforced windshield corners
I also supply 10 turnbuckles & grommets, but do not supply footman's loops at this time
Etc...

Think I'm going to stock Black, Tan, White & a Charcoal Grey. I can also do lots of other custom colors, but I'll only stock these 4 in hand.
99% of the components are made in the USA & the top is built here in Colorado. I don't have any pics on this computer, but I'll attach a couple of the black proto from my phone in a shake.
Best,
Abe

I'm going to start selling them at $1,600 & my goal is to hold that price permanently, but to be honest I'm still trying to find some better pricing on trims, so I might raise the price down the road. I've actually already sold a couple of black tops & hope to have permanent stock in hand soon. If you are interested, I've got one black & one tan top that I demo'd at Cruise Moab. They are a bit dirty as such, but have only been mounted for show, rather than long term use. I'll knock a hundred bucks off for one of them. I'll post some pics from my phone shortly.
Best,
Abe

What's the price going to be on the new "Colorado" top and when do you think you'll have them ready to sell?

I might have missed the answer to this but did you ever start making bows and tops for troopy's?

It is still on the plan for this summer, but I haven't gotten it done yet. No Garage, lots of late snow & May seasonal rain all month have removed the opportunity to pull the roof off of my Troopy, with no safe/dry place to put it until the tops are ready. But soon I hope!

I'm interested! Shoot me some pictures and I'll let you know ASAP! I'm interested in the Black one!
Thanks!

Could a 40 bow kit work on a 45 but it would extended? I was wandering if I could buy a 40 bow kit the add the remaining length with another set of bows?

I'll send you a PM Shortly, but I think we might have some confusion maybe. The tops I mentioned above are premium 40 series tops, not Troopy tops. I don't have a Colorado Troopy top available yet. But to answer your bow question, yes but not perfectly. My plan is to use an OEM 40 set for the base, but then to add the missing parts as aftermarket replica parts, to have a hybrid OEM/replica bow kit for Troopies. The main bow & forward (just behind the front doors & forward) as well as the rear bow & mounting brackets are identical to the 40. But the front rear spreader bars are longer & there are two full sets of them, and there is a mid-bed bow that doesn't exist on 40 or MWB 40's (43/44/46). I've got a set of OEM Troopy bows & was going to work with a couple of fab guys in Rising Sun (my local club) to make the missing parts,, based on their specs.
Best,
Abe
