Why do you want to know.

the 4 bolt boxes have the same bolt pattern as the 3 bolt boxes with one more bolt. And it is nice to have the extra support.

Casting numbers are a misnomer. You can have almost ANY version of the lock to lock ratios in a single casting number.

The castings have nothing to do with the innards.

If you really wanted to, you could make a 2.5 turn scout 2 box... They use the same innards.

Anybody got a good part number/cheap source for a Scout box? I am getting close to starting power steering and really like that set up best, but no dead scouts around here!

76 scout box #'s

27-7520 4 1/4 turn, 3 bolt, 3/4" input

27-7511 4 1/4 turn, 3 bolt, 13/16" input

Interesting......the NAPA web site says lifetime guarantee

75 Jeep J20

27-6529 3 1/2 to 4 1/4 turn, 4 bolt, 13/16" input

Anybody have a number for a 4 turn, 4 bolt Saginaw box with O-ring fittings and a 13/16" input shaft? I don't want to have to change my hoses. I had a hard time finding someone who would handle the 'liability'.

Or is there an adapter fitting to go from a flare fitting on an early-style box to the later O-ring hoses?

I'll try to find # at work. Just guessing on years on comp takes too long from home

80 Chev shows 3 hole, 3/4" input, 3-4.25", oring 27-6530

I'll see if I can find a 4 bolt #

Thanks thsorens, I just called advance auto and gave them the 6537 number. I ask the guy if I could request the 4.25 turn box, he looked it up and told me not a problem. My box will be here in the morning, and for the same exact price as yours with only a $15 core charge.

Price gone up with years. Its now $275 + $100 core... :(

I got this PS Box from NAPA, but was surprised to find that it's a 2 turn box. Part number 27-6537.
I can only turn the input shaft 2 full turns by hand and it seems to lock it after.
Is it normal and it's not possible to turn the input shaft by hand (require tools to turn it further) several turns?...or it is a 2 turn box?
I thought it can either be 3.5 or 4.25 turn box, but no way was ready to see something like 2 turn box.
Am I missing something here?
