Hi, Newbie on the board - hi to all. After many years away from Cruisers, I recently acquired a nice ‘69 FJ40 and was hoping for some advice about running boards (other than OEM). I have a bad knee and a lower running board would really be a help. Any ideas out there? Thanks for any advise.

Not sure what you are looking for. I am an amputee but get by just fine in my 72. Maybe some sort of auto folding step.

Which would it be!? I am sooooo torn, completely flustered and undecided with my decision. Man it would be hard to pick which one. Obviously vastly different Cruisers yet the same. Grandpappy vs grandsonny, so difficult to decide which one would be for me. 🤷🏼♂️ Cheers

Hi, I’m looking for something like this step. Between my bum knee and my tiny wife’s 5’ height, getting in and out is a bit of a strain. Thanks.

It is from Mountain Off-Road Enterprises. This one is marketed for a CJ and mounts to the tub on the CJ. If it needs to be further out because of the FJ-40 running board I'm sure something can be put together. What is nice about this step is that it is spring loaded and it can also be removed for harder wheeling.
