Finished replacing timing belt, water pump, crank seal etc. on the Tundra, so the pig gets to go back in the shop. Nice to have a helper to steer!

Oh yeah, tractor moves pig, cause I've been going through the MB motor replacing seals and gaskets in an effort to reduce oil seeps. I've also been cleaning, rust "proofing", and painting various pig bits as I go. Engine should be up and running and looking good soon!

Use that help while you have them. It's a long time before they come back around again and usually just to drop off the Grandkids.

The Rumble Pig will be ready for Spring.

I'm certainly ready for spring! We just got pelted this AM with a fairly warm and wet storm.

However, my pig needs to go play in the snow, so I'm looking to get it up and running before the vernal equinox!

pigs=love snow.

It's what we use to melt snow that's not good.
Round our parts, in the eco-conscious Pacific Northwest (yes, lots of quasi-hippies out here) our road crews use sand and metal plow blades, no nasty salt. On occasion, if we get black ice, a truck will lay some liquid de-icer, but that is not the norm.....

So.......I've been geekin'-out a bit on the MB OM617a motor that's in my pig. Part of my process when fixing up a vehicle is to read pretty much everything I can on the vehicle, be it hardcopy or online. One of the best sources of info and parts I have found for pre-1995 Mercedes motors is a company called Mercedes Source. I've been watching their how-to and tips videos for the past few weeks, and they have really come in handy.

Well, I just about crapped my pants when I learned they are located in the same town where I work! I just left their office with a box full of gaskets, seals, and instructions, and I am stoked:bounce: @tucker74

it's nice to be in the right place at the right time...post pics!
