Had a great time doing the Rubicon for the first time with TJ and Brett this week. Beautiful up there during this time of year, not to hot during the day and not cold at night. The first day went well with little issue, TJ busted a tire and I broke a bead on one tire. The second day did not go so well, TJ Brett broke a Birf, I lost all four studs and bolts on the left steering arm and TJ broke an outer axel shaft that we did not know that it broke after driving around for awhile. After fixing everything up we made it through the entire trail. Thanks again to TJ and Brett for coming out and enjoy the Rubicon with me. Here are some pictures of the run.

You forgot I removed a piece of my rear passenger flare. :D 2 more flares to go! Actually pretty surprised I escaped body damage. The KM2's at ~14 psi did very well on the trail.

That last pic with TJ pulling on my front bumper is where the drivers side birf/cage broke. Tires are mostly pointed straight too.. TJ has it on video I think.. Ordered both inner/outer longfields yesterday...

Will post up some pictures later.

Bummer on the carnage.

Where were on the trail was the pict taken and when the birf broke.

The picture was taken at Big Sluice I believe.

Only took a few pics..

TJ saving my bacon then later his own... He's also going to help me replace the axles with the longfileds when they come in. He's accumulating good Karma like crazy.. Oh, and he also saved a jeep that snapped a steering mount.. He wired up two battereis and they welded it..

That all adds to the fun, the challenge of the trail, along with the challenge of the fix to finish the trail. I hope my spare birf helped save the day! TJ is the man!

Derrick, we did not use your Birf. TJ had two other spare and we ended up using one. TJ is the man when it comes to trail repairs. I will bringing back the birf I borrowed from you soon. Just been busy lately moving to Carmel Valley area.

Nick,
I won't be running trails anytime soon. Let's meet when it's convenient, no rush. Also, I work just south of Carmel Valley just off the 805, so we'll meet there sometime.

Looks super sick! I'm hoping to make it up before I leave next spring.

Jon, we had a blast! The only issue was that the trails are very dusty at this time of year. We are planning a trip to run Dusy Ershim sometime in October.

Great video, love the artsy shot of the little girl eating the watermelon. Looks like you guys had 3 breakages and one tire repair on this trip... Yikes!

Mark, we had TJ tore a tire, broke a Birf, Brett broke a birf, and I broke a bead and lost some stud bolts on the knuckle. Lesson learn is when Running big tires have extra stud bolts and nuts for the knuckle. Overall TJ did a great job repairing our rigs. TJ is the man when it comes to trail repairs.
