Measure D again when on rims and air’d up.

That D was just calculated from their 636 revolutions/mile.

If it was 646, I would have LOL'd. That might be too old of a MUD reference for today's crowd. Not sure if @Jman is still around?

Well when I pulled the tach to hook it directly to the battery for a test, I noticed my gauges did not read - no oil pressure, not fuel level reading - fantastic!!!

I thought perhaps I jarred the plug on the back loose, so I thought I would pull the cluster and check. I also wanted to prep myself for installing some LED lights in the cluster.

Note: it is super easy to disconnect the speedometer cable, and much harder to re-connect!

After assessing the cluster and re-installing - still no gauges! Awesome...

So I went hunting for a blown fuse. Which fuse is for the cluster? IDK, and they are not labeled to that level of detail!

It is the Heater fuse - 15A

I checked them all for continuity, and they were all good! Well shoot...

So I pulled the one for Heater (close to the cluster) and put it back in, and I got my gauges back! Nice...

Tease. We've only been waiting a year for promised pics ;) Ha ha, well I have lots of little pieces that look nice and shiny. The pile of pieces does not resemble a 40 much at this point...

The 40 did well climbing up to Eisenhower Tunnel and over Vail Pass, but as I got close to Parachute, things changed...

Around mid March of 2016 it was time to bring the 40 home - oh yeah!
We drove the 100 to go pick her up:
