Well, glad that it is resolved and that I was wrong - that is certainly cheaper than a new alt and battery!

Cool. Happy to hear it wasn't worse.

Ill eat crow. I was wrong. Never heard of that issue before...

No need to buddy. We're all here to collaborate from our collective experience and perspectives. I have to remind myself that too as I've equally been wrong before. Many times. That's what creates experience. The discussion is always meaningful even if it indirectly drives to a better understanding or solution.

Funny. Right after I thought it was the battery, I was gonna say there must be a piece of rubber stuck in the throttle body.:lol::lol:

No seriously I’m glad you got that resolved. Who’da thunk?

does the ALT-S diode mod do premature damage to our alternators?
I’m not sure, but some of the symptoms are consistent with what I had running the diode. Keep in mind, I ran an HKB diode on my 2017. HKB website shows only through 2016 on US models. How different can they really be? Well...

My 2017 lit up like a a christmas three, went into limp mode while I was trying to merge onto the freeway. I was well into the throttle. The error code presented at a throttle body sensor performance issue. Idle was inconsistent.

I cleared the code, spun around the parking lot and the code reapplied. Plucked the diode and replaced it with the standard ALT-S fuse, cleared the code and all is well.

Eagerly awaiting pictures of this gasket so we can start the postmortem.
Like the others, really glad it wasn’t something big though!

Yikes. I don’t think that’s from your vehicle at all.. somehow left in the intake no less. Even if it was in the clean side of the airbox the carbon filter would stop it going through the MAF into the throttle body.

I haven’t messed with the resonators on the intake pipe much.. has anyone else? Possibly out of there?

That's such a weird thing to find in the airbox. I don't recognize it. But it looks to be about 3"? Which is about the intake pipe diameter? Is it a seal of some sort that's suppose to be upstream?

How it found it's way into the airbox, and only showed up now stuck in the throttle body? Weird...

Lucky that didn't make it past the tb. Probably too big to get through an intake runner and into a cylinder, but certainly bent valves and a head job at a minimum if it did.

Sorry, guys. I have been having internet issues. Attached is another picture of it. I am kind of worried this might be a seal of some sorts from the intake tube. Anyone ever had theirs apart?

What's the OD measurement on that thing?
