I also found this guy for the brakes. I am going to go with a PS pump from PSC to handle the new hydro assist and the steering.

That's a corvette MC that came with 4 wheel discs

and a little gift showed up in the mail. KD double bubble flare kit for when it's time to make new brake lines.

here's a pile of clean parts with new solenoids and cover. I am going to look into the albright as it seems to get rave reviews, but for now I have what I need. Just waiting on a few things from Warn to get it back together. It was a bear to get the brake off.

I also found a great deal on a new Webasto diesel fired coolant heater. I am quickly running out of room under the hood!

I purchased the right tools to do the job.

The one on the right is for weather pack, standard ends ect. It's a ratchet style with interchangeable heads. Pro tools on sale at PA. Works GREAT.

If you dont mind me asking how much this particular crimping tool set (the one on the right) ran yah ?

I been looking for one, I seen a few on ebay made in Germany but not one with all the head sets...

Thanks,

Frank

It was around $75 on sale at Princess Auto in Canada

Sweet setup Brad!

The plate that's attached to your HB. Is that a plate designed to adapt the HB to a cruiser or just what it came with? Also, have a year for that MC?

Thanks!

It's just what came with it but I think it will be easily modified or replaced to match the LC bolt pattern. It came out of a 96 safari van (I think)

I will get you the part number off the MC next week as I am away on business. I think it's from an early 70s.

I've got a similar setup that came attached to my HB setup, which came out of a P30 van. Mine will also require some modification to make work.

Thanks for getting the P/N for that MC. It'll come in handy when I end up doing my RDB conversion

an advice on MC with my HB setup .. I've been from 1 1/4 down to 1" which seems ( to me ) get more close to the stock setup brake feel ..

David, remind us what calipers you are running as that's also part of the system and changes how different MC bore sizes feel.

Mine: 4runner calipers up front, 80s GM front truck calipers out back with HB and a 1 1/8" MC bore has a nice pedal feel but needed a proportioning valve for the rear circuit.

Setup

V6 Runner Calipers front
Eldo Calipers Rears
No proportioning valve
Chevy Tahoe HB
PSC PS pump, ram, reservoir and oil cooler ( 80 series tranny cooler )

All my appreciations are based on my previous setup 80 series booster and MC

First I try 1 1/4

No pedal travel ( very little ), rock solid not nice .. was like on off switch

Second was 1 1/8

More Pedal travel still not happy but more than first setup, much more pedal feeling

Third was 1 1/16

This was the perfect setup IMOP and I will probably will get to this one after I finish my alternator nightmare ( not topic related :frown: sorry )

Actual and 4th its 1" bore

pretty good .. good travel, but feels kinda more pedal travel that would really like it and still pedal feel maybe kinda spongy not sure how to define it ...

As I said .. I believe the deal it's on 1 1/16

good info on the MC and brake set up.

I am running V6 calipers and 80 series rear disk brakes. Stock proportioning valve (i think this is unique to the 61 as my other 60s don't have it)

The vette MC is 1" i believe. My plan is to get rid of the valve as well.

keep us posted on how you feel with your combo .. actually that's pretty subjective and related to our 60 weight, suspension, tire size .. etc etc etc ..

The Dude, i love your hj61 man. you have done a bunch of stuff to it over the years. i love all the pics and info you've given too. keep up the great work.

It's coming along. Just need to get the bump stop pads figured out, weld on the other coil over mount and then start working on the panhard...
