You cant believe it? I might be the most indecisive person on earth. I changed my mind on stuff daily. My main problem is that I have too much time to THINK about what I want to do and TOO MUCH time in between work periods so I rethink everything I've done previously. It makes me ill thinking about all the money I've pissed away changing from one thing to another.... so I dont.

HOLLY CRAP! We must be twins, this is the story of my life.

I'm going to get the coilovers back on in the next few days and I'm wondering about the "stops" on the main body for the dual rate slider. Where would be a good place to start to set these? The coilovers are 14" 250/350 with about 5 or 6 inches of up travel. Not looking for perfection just in the ballpark until I can fine tune them on the trail.

little more...

the bracket that comes with the NWF triple shift for the 203 does not fit (using the spacers on the backside) in conjunction with a th400 so welded the spacers to the front and made a little tab for the linkage:

fits like this now:

did some more cutting on my floor board to make the rear driveshaft fit(I should have built a buggy). Its actually pretty nice having the large hole though. The 205 can be mounted/unmounted through the top.

I had to notch out the little bracket and part of that crossemember above the driveline to mount the driveline:

then got them mounted.. the front shaft is pretty close to the front link bracket. I think I'll end up trimming up that bracket with the plasma. Its just too stinkin close for my liking:

not an exciting shot but proof that I am even getting some of the hydro plumbing done:

Its progress anyway...

hey you are getting close .. keep it moving .. ( it may cost some sleep hours .. but it worth )

that is exactly when I work on it... when the rest of the family is in bed. I make a few cuts (loud stuff) right when I get home from work and then do "family time" unitl they go to bed... then I dash for the garage.

:bang:

Those are beefy drivelines! I am in the plumbing phase of my build too. It's very time consuming. Hope everything else is going well for you!

I like it. She's gonna sound mean.

I really wish I had the room to run true dual exhaust but since I clocked the 205 up there is no room on the passenger side.... heck there is hardly room on the driver's side with the upper third link. It transitions from 2.5 to 3 just after that point. I am still debating what kind of muffler to use.

It's more important to have the drivetrain tucked up tight than to have a dual exhaust IMO.

I bet that motor would sound great with a 40 series Flowmaster. You could probably get your cat and / or muffler from summit.

yep, totally agree. I spent too much time trying to get the drivetrain tucked up to just leave the exhaust hanging.

Summit Racing is on speed dial on my phone (not kidding). Between them and Baxter auto parts (local semi-speed shop oriented parts store) I'm surprised I havent been divorced yet. I love the sound of flowmasters and I think I have the room but I'm considering one of those slender hushpower mufflers too. I really need a 3" mandrel bent s-bend section for the rear section and flowmaster sells such a piece of tube but you have to buy it as a set of 6... maybe I have to settle for a local exhaust shop to kink me a section.

Magnaflow have a good selection of round and ovals with good sound where to choose .. take a look at their web ..

ahhh. forgot about magnaflow... good call on that one. I'll look into those too. I also have to figure out how I'm going to dump the exhaust. I left the rear section full of holes on purpose to "vent" some, if any, fumes from the fuel cell. Now, the issue will be exhaust fumes coming in. :bang: Didnt think of that one until this very moment. :bang:

looking good Zach! I hated doing the exhaust on mine. Yours looks fantastic. Any work party days coing up? Would really like to see you driving this this summer!

Please excuse my intrusion. I happened upon an easier route on starter clearance issues. Go to your local parts store and ask for a starter for a 2002 gmc 3500 van with 5.7 vortec. What they bring out to you is a significantly smaller and stronger starter with same bolt pattern.
