Lou,

When you get them mounted please post some pics showing the coverage.

Rosen update... the Icon visor measures 15.1 they have another lens thats 16.71 for an additional $50.00 .. I told Dan to ship the extra lens

Lou

So you will have two lenses per side or you as to pay extra to upgrade it?

No. one lens per side...I was looking for a longer lens ..something closer to the OEM visor. They will only make the Icon visor with a 15.1 inch lens..but I can buy the 16.71 lens.. as a replacement.. remove the 15.1 and bolt on the 16.71

Cool looking forward to your install and review. My wife was just bugging me about these today as the driver's visor is starting to droop again.

Here's Dan's message regarding the extra lens

Good morning Lou,

The lenses will not come attached to the assembly as the item must be built and inspected according to the drawing. The longer lenses will come separately and you will be able to switch them out easily by removing the three attachment screws per lens. You may certainly let any of the others know that the same prices will apply.

Just to verify: $245.00 for the system and $50.00 for the 2 additional lenses (+ shipping)

Attached is a copy of sales order #98817 as confirmation of your order. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks.

These pics are taken with my BlackBerry resting on the headrest. The first pic is how I have it positioned. Sort of "in the middle". The second is just turned straight down. The third is fully extended on the arm

I am still in, awaiting contact or further instruction. the visor pictured in Darne's post #83 seems sufficiently long. Is this the 15.1"?

Yes, that is the 15.1.... I would just call Dan at Rosen and get it rolling

Lou

I just talked to Dan at Rosen and my order is in for the 15.1" visors. We'll see if the upgrade to the longer visor is necessary, but I'm looking forward to checking these out - and ditching my sorry drooping visors as well!

I'm just waiting to see what Lou's look like and get his feedback. I don't want to store a set of lenses if I don't need to.

Any updates Lou? I haven't ordered yet.

Dan from Rosen contacted me and he verified that there are no really tight tolerances. This means that I can just mask off the threads and strip the black of the aluminum bits off. Then get them anodized as close to the oak color as possible. Its great to have access to an anodizer ;)

According to UPS mine are out for delivery so I'll have them today

I'd like to see how they turn out as that might be an option if you have success and like the color..

The Rosen visors have arrived and I switched to the longer lens.... I'll get these mounted in the morning and shoot better pictures

Yeah if they are black and not powder coated then its steel oxide. Steel oxide does rust. Only sucky thing about them.

I spoke to Dan at Rosen and all the hardware with the exception of the set screws is anodized aluminum

Ugh. That'll be the first thing I change out. We experimented with those in some of our gear five years ago. Fails miserably. You really have to be delicate. I never would have thought they used those. Aluminum screws stretch and are one time use. I suppose its fine for most of their customers but yeah, I'm replacing.

Let me try this again....the post that mounts to the ceiling and the arm are aluminum....all the screws are steel.
