i'm just looking at the weight of this polymax kennel flooring. 8 lbs per 2' x 4' sheet. it works out to 2 lbs less (total) than the expanded metal i want. i think the only advantage with going the plastic poultry floor route is the price would be cheaper. downside is mounting it though. with metal i can have the same effect, easier to tie down to, can weld all the way around.

I have the chicken coop (Farmtek) flooring on my Disco rack. Its really the best option going. You can stand on it, it flexes a little but doesn't break, solid color (black) so no chipping or painting touch up needed, and it can be easily cut to fit.

I used the really heavy gauge wire ties and used like 40-50 of them on my rack. Its doesn't move at all and is very strong. The flooring square opening can work with some bungees. I eventually found some at Walmart that fit well in the squares which easily lets you tie-down anything you put up there.

Again, I don't know anyone who has used this flooring that has taken it off and said it didn't do the job. Plus its cheap.

I can snap pics if needed. But I'd fear the disco bashing here on this board. Maybe I'd take some with the 40 in the background ;)

What is it made from?

Nice! i was about to call my buddy up your way and have him take a few shots of his Disco I with the coup flooring.

See the link IBCRUSN posted about materials. Its some type of rubber/plastic hybrid which is very strong. I had a 250lb friend standin between the support rails and it flexed a little but bounces right back.

The reason I didn't use marine grade plywood is I read that can curl and deform in the heat. Plus any wood will eventually age and deteriorate and will also require painting or some type of covering/treatment. This stuff has been proven to not deform in heat or cold and requires no maintenance at all. At $15 per 2' x 4' sheet, its dirt cheap. You can also get it in inter-connect form where the ends butt up to each other with interlock tabs for a seamless connection where it looks like one continuous sheet. Very nice.

Can you get that stuff only off of their website? I wonder if Tractor Supply carries it....or Pet Smart? I'd like to see it in person..

I've heard people buying it at stores typically in regions where agriculture is a big business (unlike here in NJ). I would guess you could find it at some farm stores (I doubt Pet Smart would have but who knows). Note its sold under different names at different places but I believe all made by the same company/factory. The stamping on the flooring on mine reads:

"Red Rooster" MKII
Broiler Breeder Chicken Floor
Made In Canada
US Patent: 4,953,501
