I have a set of rocky road sliders. Trying to get them installed. Has anyone installed them? I'm having trouble with the rear bracket on the driver side. It seems that I would have to take the gas tank down to put them on. Any input would be helpful

Man, y'all are going to wish you asked (or simply searched) on here before you bought those!!!!!!!!!!

you shouldnt have to mess with the gas tank. I would just call them.
A phone call will get you know where. I went that route. It usually sounds something like this, "This is the first time we have ever heard of any issue with the sliders". I know that is garbage because of all the guys who called in before me with issues. They will try to tell you it is installer error as to why the fitment is horrible. After days of battling with them they agreed to let me ship them back for repairs IF I covered the cost to ship them to them and then back to me. It was going to be around $400. Not a chance. I grinded, cut, drilled, braced, welded, and welding again to make them fit and fuction as they should have when they arrived. The sliders I got for my 100 were white knuckle. WAY better quality, fitment, and design.

I...sadly agree with all thats been said. I have them on my truck and they are a disappointment.

This bar is supposed to be behind the pinch seam (FYI - DON'T drill your pinch seam!, its a stupid design that needs to die the death. I inserted a piece of fabric (strap) in there to get rid if the noise (squeaks) until the seam bent enough to not rub. These are poor quality and their customer service (with few exceptions) is also poor. If you are local I would take them back. I would have but they have help up okay for me and I can live with the issues. I've heard of several removals of these from places who know.

This needs to keep happening until they get it into their heads that these need to be changed. Change the bloody jig for crying out loud! at least then they will be poor quality sliders that fit right.

They haven't let me down yet, but they aren't a good product.

just called and canceled my order

Wish I had found that before I ordered them. Of course I can only find the true reviews after they get to my door. Anyway the control arm bracket is in the way. Of they had welded the arm an inch further back than they did, that part would fit. They say to remove the spacer on the bolt to get it to fit, and that the spacer is only there to stop the powder coated bolts from sticking to the frame. Why powder coat the spacer to to protect the bolt. Trying to get them to pay for me to send them back. Doubt I will get anything don't. The man who answered the phone seemed pissed off I called.

solution I used was to angle the bracket and clamp down as hard as I could (don't worry, the brackets are wimpy mild steel and they will bend long before you crush the mounting point for the rear trailing arm.

I guess I'll have to try it. Hopefully I can get them on because I don't see them paying a dime of anything to get them fixed.

Wonder why if they hear people saying they have issues they continue on the same jig?

Landcruiser community isn't so big they'll get lost in the mix, hopefully the cancelled orders speak volumes to them. The cat guard looked like they tried - so it's not loke they are Smittybilt nerfs.

Then again, seeing they service the Jeepers maybe LC products are just not priority.

Good to know they're bad actors - I'd never hear that brand before.

Looks like they are heading down the same Road as EMS Exhausts.
If I had a backyard business I would make sure I was on Mudd defending my product, but maybe Vendors are hoping to make a quick buck and go away.

Raw OPOR Sliders atr 599.98 at Metal Tech, and they are a HUNK of Iron. I Installed them myself with the help of a creeper, plastic cooler and several pieces of 3/4 plywood to achieve the correct height held In place with 2 rubber bungie's, Found the balancing point of the sliders on the cooler and pushed down on the mounts to clear the pinch seams and they bolted up well. I put windshield washer hose on my brake lines where they could vibrate on the U-Bolts . The only shortcoming was the final position was to close to the pinch seam for my liking, I may have to shim. I know you young guys will say big deal, lol, but I have severe Arthritis so It was a real accomplishment for me. LOL..! :) Nice Sliders Good Luck Everyone..!

When I was active in the Samurai community, I saw a lot of complaints about the quality and service provide by RRO. One item that I distinctly remember was that they were selling an "Z" shaped pitman arm link that they claimed would correct bump steer which is total BS.

I should state that I have had some great interactions with a few select people from RRO. That being said there is a lot of stupid going on there as well. Maybe they need to see this thread to shake the foundations a little. For an off road shop, rep is everything.
