i just installed a set 3 days ago for my 1997 fzj80. I bought these when i ordered my OME lift. I really like the low profile high ground clearance look of these sliders.
For a simple "bolt on" kit it took me several hours. this included my BFH and having to drill out some of their slots to line up with the crossmember bolt holes.
I am not happy at all with the quality of these. I have large gaps between the mounting brackets and the frame, they are not level with the truck, brackets hang a good 1 1/2" below the frame, and they move way too much.
I'm afraid i will have to add additional supports toward the front of the sliders and weld the existing brackets to the frame. should have done more research....

DO NOT BUY THE ROCKY-ROAD SLIDERS

Rocky road sliders for sale in SoCal, cheap!

It's been a few years...maybe the newer ones are better? I mean, they are still in business, so they must be doing something right...or better. Would like to hear about your experience with these.

I’ve had mine on for a couple of years now and They work great. I went with them because at the time they were the only ones that were available in stock. I didn’t hear about the problems others had with them until after I got mine. The install wasn’t bad with a helper, a floor Jack and stands. My only complaint with them was the hardware was installed before they were powder coated and it cracked off of it when you took them out to install. That’s not really a big deal but it annoyed me. I can take some pics if anyone wants to see how they’ve held up after a couple of years.

@Tachycardic I have a set for my 93 that I purchased back in October and received sometime before Christmas. I actually liked the look of them. I think they had a $50 flat shipping rate sale. The price was right, That’s what made me pull the trigger. Once I received them, they looked pretty good. Packaged well and a good powder coat job. Average welding.
Just for reference, this is my 4th set of rock sliders for a car. The others were for a 3rd gen 4runner, Tacoma , and 2 100 series. The brands were metal tech, trail tailor and I think all pro Offroad? Anyways, my point is that I have had a fair amount of experience installing and using rock sliders over the years. Looking back, trail tailor and metal tech had the best fit and quality and durability. @TRAIL TAILOR probably had the best welding. I’m not that picky with welds, but I remember his was basically perfect and beautiful. with trail tailor we had a bracket or rubbing issue in one spot, right away he sent a replacement/ fix and I never had another issue or complaint.

the problem with these Rockybtoad sliders is they are 100 % mounted correct, but they have. A bunch movement / flex in them. To the pint where I can grab it cause movement. While driving they pop / you can hear them have movement. It is just a poor design. I have messed with it twice already. But the mounting feet / points don’t mount flat on all spots of the frame and I don’t think there’s much else I can do without fabrications. I’ve been active her mud for over 5 years now. It’s my own fault for not researching them before ordering And being cheap. Now that my 80 is really getting dialed in, those pops and noises while driving is making me insane. I think I’ll just remove for now and try to sell cheap.

you selling them? if so how much?

I did sell them right after that post. I think $450?? Sold quick. But I’m glad they are gone. I was transparent with the buyer about my dismay. My white knuckle sliders should be ready in 2 weeks

Definitely going white knuckle know. How long ago did you order them? I had trail gear welded on my 94 but have since picked up a 97 and want to buy bolt on. If i do end up ordering from white knuckle ill be picking them up as shipping is super expensive
