Hi everyone
anyone could tell me please where in generation 2 can i ge the (echo cancelation)
someone on amazon posted from factory menu in generation 1 but i cant find in new UI
To enter the factory menu in Gen 2 you have to enter 1234 but there is no echo cancellation function anymore

To Cancel the echo effect on the other side while on bluetooth transmition to car stereo
I looked everywhere on Amazon, But I did not see a picture of a person with the echo cancellation.

These are the Three links that I know that is on Amazon unless I am missing more. If you have a picture of it, please enlighten me. Maybe I can ask Road Top if they can somehow bring it back for the second generation.

Edit: for some reason, this forum does not allow me to post multiple links.

I have a gen 1 and there is an echo cancelation Gen 2 does not have it
However to my earlier point this would not be an issue if the unit was switching the phone call through the Bluetooth “phone” profile because your mic would be the land cruiser’s not the display’s…

Interesting. Seems like the factory menu has more settings you can mess around with.

I’m trying with my phone connected to the Land Cruiser as well as the RT. RT aligned to media and my phone aligned to the phone profile. This works pretty well, you just need to untoggle the “handset” button on the Land Cruiser screen if the call was answered/initiated through RT. OEM buttons worked for answering the call or initiating and in those cases there is no need to toggle the handset button [WRONG] you still need to press the "handset" button… this might be the best route to avoid using the mic on the RT
PS having the phone paired with the LC did not limit RT from connecting and initiating CarPlay

Thanks for sharing. Going to try this with my Lexus CT200h and will post back if it works ;)

Mentioned on Post #61. Probably didn't word it as good as you.

I have the NINETON coming in tomorrow, I'll report back

Literally the first thing that popped in my helmet. Er, head.

Anyone have an image of the reverse side of the Gen 2 unit? Or, more critically, what the mounting pattern is on one of these - is it a VESA-style with four M4/M6s or something proprietary?

If I can hop directly into my LX and have bluetooth pick up my Pandora without any other steps - I'm in. And if I'm in I'll look at engineering a flush top mount for these, either 3D printed or sheetmetal.

No VESA or anything like that. It is just a 17mm ball joint socket screwed into the unit. Meaning you can use any mount with a 17mm ball.

Yes, this worked for me as well.

In another note, the RT froze on me for the first time after turning ON the car and CarPlay was up and running for about 5 secs. Maps wasn't showing any streets, just the Maps logo in the middle of the screen. Audio was still coming out of car speakers but the screen was unresponsive. This is the case when the push button on the power adapter comes handy as I didn't need to stop the car. After reboot everything was back to normal.

Update: after some research, I found this is a very well known issue with CarPlay no matter the brand, head unit or car model. So most likely it's related to CarPlay and not the RT unit.

I received the NINETOP unit today, same exact as RT but the box has coloring... Unfortunately it was already a Get 2 until (I was chasing an older unit because of the phone call issue, I'll stick to the workaround already discussed) but I kept it since it was less that the RT... ($260 after coupon)

Is it possible to update the gen 2 unit with gen 1 firmware version update?

Got a little creative with the wiring today…
Took out the speaker grill and the air vent and routed it behind them…
I wish the wire wasn’t so think I could put it between the grill and the plastic behind… the dash is giving enough that the side works for now. With courage one day I should notch the grill but that’s means real commitment…

For reference this is what happens with the wire between hard plastic and the grill

Do you happen to have the firmware my android auto toggles are at the bottom and not on the side it doesnt have a side by side view

So it turns out I have an echo as well on phone calls. I don’t understand why they took away echo cancellation on gen 2.

I guess it’s back to Amazon it goes.
