The fix for this is in post #127So it turns out I have an echo as well on phone calls. I don’t understand why they took away echo cancellation on gen 2.
I guess it’s back to Amazon it goes.

I was told that it is not possible since their internals are slightly different. If you go to their youtube channel, a lot of people ask if 1 gen can update to 2nd gen firmware. Road Top's response is that the firmware update is only for 2nd gen. I can imagine vice versa to those that have 2nd Gen trying to do with 1st gen firmware. Although you can request road top to implement or fix a specific issue, then they can send you a custom firmware that may or may not fix your problem. Is it possible to update the gen 2 unit with gen 1 firmware version update?
I vote notch the grille and wait for the next big Toyota parts sale and order yourself a replacement to have in your back pocket. I’m so guilty of this from 60 series ownership. Anything that was available I usually had two. LolGot a little creative with the wiring today…
Took out the speaker grill and the air vent and routed it behind them…
I wish the wire wasn’t so think I could put it between the grill and the plastic behind… the dash is giving enough that the side works for now. With courage one day I should notch the grill but that’s means real commitment…

For reference this is what happens with the wire between hard plastic and the grill

I have gen 2 but the navigation bar when in android auto is at the bottom and not on the side like everyone elsesI was told that it is not possible since their internals are slightly different. If your toggles are at the bottom, I suspect DPI resolution not fixed correctly on your unit.
Does the map or menu look stretched and not split screen?I have gen 2 but the navigation bar when in android auto is at the bottom and not on the side like everyone elses
You win! @CincodemustacheI vote notch the grille and wait for the next big Toyota parts sale and order yourself a replacement to have in your back pocket. I’m so guilty of this from 60 series ownership. Anything that was available I usually had two. Lol
Yes how do I fix thisDoes the map or menu look stretched and not split screen?
Can you send me your custom firmware?Yes how do I fix this
Received another firmware update from them. I do not know what has changed when I took a look at the settings.
Those who are wondering what I have requested before getting this update is the ability to store Day and Night time settings even when power is off and back on, brightness will pick where it left off to, (Courtesy of enricoclaudio request). I also asked if there is the ability to have the calls routed to the original Car's bluetooth when on the phone instead of the built-in mic from the unit (Courtesy of jefo13 request).
Maybe start from there to see if they did manage to make our request work. I don't have the time to extensively test it, but when I do, i'll report back my findings. Any request that you would like to have in the unit or problems, Feel free so I can ask Road Top if they can do it.

I've asked, But knowing that they are from China, I won't expect them to respond until tomorrow.Just tested it and no Night/Day brightness stored yet. To be honest, during the 5 mins testing, I didn't see any difference. If you can, just ask them what is the changelog for this version so we know what they are addressing or adding.
I think Sound was confirmed by jefo13 (if I'm not mistaken) that you can now pick up your phone calls without the need of the workaround and it will route directly to your car's Bluetooth Mic. Correct me if I'm wrong.I’m confirming Day/Night memory works. I also did the “Sound” firmware but I didn’t notice any difference, however I think what they did is lowering the output voltage because volume seems a bit low compared to the previous firmware. I think they catch a bug that with the volume all the way up the sound was distorting. Now the sound is clean even with the volume at 40. I haven’t installed the firmware related to “Low volume calls”, though.

Do the steering wheel controls work with phone calls this way?I tested the Sound and it fixed the call routing issue. It now routes through the phone profile and uses car Mic
Make sure car Bluetooth is not connection to your iPhone
Every car is slightly different, stick to what worksHmmm. I tried disconnecting my iPhone from Lexus CAR MULTIMEDIA (phone calls) but I didn't get any audio or Lexus mic working. Also, steering wheel controls don't work. In my case, having the iPhone connected to my Lexus CT200h Bluetooth (phone) and RT to Lexus CT200h Bluetooth audio everything works. Mic and speakers from Lexus and steering wheel controls also work with phone calls. Am I doing something wrong?
