Wow! Beautiful truck and awesome photos. The front 3/4 view is going on my wallpaper. Gives me something to shoot for when I ruin my paint.

As I said before, truck looks great!

Yeah, smart idea proposing way out in the middle of nowhere. She knew it was a looong walk home if she said no. :flipoff2:

Haha no doubt, I actually made that joke to her... She didn't laugh.

Haha thanks! Do it, the LineX works well on the 80's wth the full factory bodyline. I'm glad I could provide you with some fresh wallpaper.

Truck looks absolutely fantastic btw :grinpimp:

Thanks you! Love yours as well...

Wow, great looking rig.

As I said before, truck looks great!

Thanks gents!

I was supposed to go wheeling today in the Crowsnest Pass. With a bunch of snow in the forcast it was potentially going to be an epic day. Until work called, and I had to go back....... :bang:

Got out in the snow today. Had a great time and it was nice to put the LX through it's paces on more than one occasion. Definitely still learning the vehicle but loving the SA offroad. Anyways, a few pics from our day:

Jeff's little pickup that could. This thing killed it on the trail today!

Those are some really nice pics!

Man I miss the mountains, can't wait to get back there! Amazing pics as always!

Cool pics. Looks like a fun trail ride.:)

Those are some really nice pics!

Thanks guys! Yah it was an awesome day. The pics don't do the trail any justice but combined with the weather conditions it was pretty intense in spots. Lots of ice under the layer of fresh snow keeps your a## puckered when up against a tree in off-camber situations!

Do you know if there's a build thread for that red HDJ81?

No he does go on the forums much. It's a bad ass truck though. If your looking for any info specifically let me know and i can probably dig it up. He's putting a new intercooler and bigger turbo on it soon. Just re-geared it to 4.88's with TJM air lockers. Slee 6" lift. Super nice rig!

Thanks Ian. Yah I miss the mountains too! My first time out since Sept. Crazy considering I used to go wheeling 3-4 times a month. Those days are long gone. :crybaby:

Absolutely beautiful photos, looks like a great time.

Thanks a lot! Keep stopping by, hopefully I'll get some snow wheeling days in over the Christmas holidays.

A few updates on the 80...

Ordered some OEM parts for replacing all the seals and louvers on the rear sliding windows. I can see my seals are pretty weathered so I'm hoping that there arent any scary rusty secrets hiding underneath. I actually plan on using the sliding windows so I need these to be working properly/leak free.

I replaced my relay and tie-rod with Slee's replacements, they are ridiculously beefy. All new OEM TRE's all around. All parts were original so my steering has already tightened up dramatically.

I had enough with my ProComp shocks and ordered a set of OME L's. I was also still running the factory steering stabilizer so the OME should be a welcomed addition since the OE unit had almost no resistance when I pulled it off. Currently running so steering stabilizer until I can get my OME shocks painted. Sorry can't do the yellow, but looking forward to some extra droop and some nice, not-blown, shocks! Thanks ARB.

Copy and Pasted from another thread - in the process of trying to swap this steering wheel in.

Guts of the IS300 Wheel - you can see the wiring for the up/down shift buttons running in with the Cruiser Control Module wiring.

I sure hope I can make it work, it's very similar to the MKIV Supra steering wheel!

Bad news: I might have stripped my transmission drain plug. I replaced one of the tranny cooler lines and needed to let some fluid out after slightly overfilling. It was -30 Celsius and I honestly barely torqued on the nut but now it's spinning freely. Thankfully it's holding fluid but I dont trust it. I think there might have been an issue before because I've never stripped something with the feeble amount of torque I applied. Hopefully I just found an old issue that was unknown or not disclosed. It would suck to have it leak while on the trail! Trying a new drain bolt today and if that doesnt work I'll have to drop the pan and tap the hole - not cool.

And a photo to keep you entertained, we've been having some gnarly weather - 30cm of snow in 12hrs.

I'm also selling my 7/16" x 100ft TJM synthetic winchline, aluminum fairlead, and hook if anyone is interested. I have it for sale in the classifieds but need it gone. It's brand new and never been outside. As I said, I just can't do yellow. It's all in the details!

I'm flexible on the price, here is a link to the FS ad:

I need to overhaul my windows back there also, would you post up the part numbers you're replacing? I didn't want to have to pull it all apart and then wait for parts.

No problem, I have the Toyota invoice infront of me:

75670-60020 - lower belt trim piece (Left)

75660-60020 - lower belt trim piece (Right)

62741-60040 - sliding window weatherstrip (Left)

62742-60040 - sliding window weatherstrip (Right)

62905-60020 - plastic vent louver (Right)

62906-60020 - plastic vent louver (Left)

I think that's it!

Great! Thank you. Does the seal for the vents come with the vents then?

The new vent louvers come with the vent louver clip. Not sure on the seal.

Here is the part diagram for the louver area: http://tps.toyotaofdallas.com/parts/1997/Toyota/Land%20Cruiser/Base?siteid=214074&vehicleid=80637&diagram=8412415&diagramCallOut=2

I just went and looked at my box of parts. The louvers have a small rubber seal around their perimeter and it looks like that is all that is needed.

Perfect, thank you!

Would you post the procedure, process or challenges you encounter as you work through those windows and vents? I'm not sure how hard it's going to be to replace the full seal but I'd appreciate any advice.

Wow... makes me wish I lived there.
Scratch that I do live there- Makes me wish I actually left Lethbridge with my truck!
(wish I worked on my truck more...)

Great pictures!
