Other than the kid that showed up in a 2wd 4Runner is was a good day.

Did he make it through?

Shocking he did. Made it thru the creek and the chute on his own. Once he got to the rock ledges above the creek he had to be yanked up. Once to the top of the ledges he made it the rest of the way on his own.

Chinese go-pro (go-cheap?) mounted on front bumper. First time using it, didn't get as much as I wanted as I thought it was off when it was on, lots of wasted video. Still, worked!

That looks pretty awesome.
It was pretty awesome! The wetness and the fog made it a little spooky at times, but even better for the adventure side. We also so "Creatures of the Night", a pig, and a recently abandoned school bus (didnt look inside for bodies). Thats a good day trip!

The overall water level was very low though, streams were super easy.

Haha, didn't realize my weak assed hand signals were going to make it into your first video there, @Izzyandsue .

Great meeting up with everybody and doing the misty mountain hop. Felt bad for the fella 2wd'n it, but he made it with a lil help.

Bumped into a gent named Walter I believe on the way home in Blowing Rock who had really nice 2 tone moonglow over gray 80. Gave the ONSC commercial but was out of cards.

My sciatica was super fired up by the time I got home, and I writhed in pain all night until urgent care opened up this morning. 10/10 would do again.

@pkniland thanks again for organizing!

Probably that diesel 80. I'll do you the favor of taking it off your hands.

y'know, you probably wouldn't like the smoke. I was idling a lot and I think I was rolling coal on the guys behind me, lol #trailmanners.

I'll say with the lift, tires, lockers, low end power, refrigerator console, it doesn't take as much skill negotiate stuff; which I know is going to get me into trouble eventually.

At that hill climb at the end, I wasn't doing to try it, but that guy from Tennessee in the Taco we picked up was very convincing. He kept giving my wife reassurance that she could make it and telling her which line to follow. Not sure if he realized I was the one driving with the RHD.

Little diesel smoke never hurt anyone. Mine tends to just fill the cab by coming up through the holes in the floor.

I get a kick out of spotters saying you in in RHDs, "turn driver...uh...wait..no, I mean...."
