I can send you mine for shipping costs if you want.
I am realizing that Coyote has been in the garage for a year next month! Initial problem that brought it inside was a stalling issue. I had just filled my second tank of gas, and coming home it died. Would start right up and die again within 30-45 seconds. Fuel pump, carb.? Got it inside and started looking at problem solving. Noticed brake master cylinder was empty. Odd as I had just checked it the week before. Further investigation revealed driver's back and passenger front brake backing plates were soaked. And down the slope I went!! Still waiting on parts to finish rear disc conversion. Hope to get this out of garage before turkey day.
In the meantime, we added yet another yota to the corral.

My rear conversion kit finally showed up, only a week later than promised. Now to get busy.

One side done. Not as straight forward as advertised, but fits. Other side not lining up as easily. Had to stop before I messed something up. Tomorrow will be better I hope.

If you look at the conversion parts pic, you will notice there's a notch in one side of the brackets. The first bracket went on correctly, notch up purely by accident. My frustration came with the other side. My inherent dumbassery put the other bracket on upside down. Fought it for half hour before dissasembly. Found my mistake and reassembled. Everything worked as should. Duh! Actually put a wheel and tire on to make sure it worked. Progress!!

Scored big yesterday. Fellow in KC had a parts lot of fj40 and 55 parts. Some nos and a set of pristine doors for a 55. Been in his basement for over a decade. Even has the key to the doors and the ignition switch! My '78 project just got an infusion. Been getting shop ready for winter with insulation and a wood stove I've used for 41 years. Also getting my 2 post lift installed. Still hoping to get coyote on the road by thanksgiving.

Nice. I had parts like that stashed from my old 40 and 55. Sold all of it in the 90s thinking I was done. That's what I get for thinking. Get it running!

Lift is really where it's at if you have the ceiling height, I did double take when you said thanksgiving as we had ours 2 weeks ago...sounds like progress is imminent.

So I realized I kind of burned out on this project. It had become a burden and not much fun. A lot of stuff to fix, and a bit overwhelming. Decided I needed a break, so worked on stuff around house and garage. Even managed to pick up a 1982 FJ60 for parts/ whatever. I think it’s time to get back on it and get ready for PP2018!

Man, I went through that several times. I'm guessing everyone does to different degrees. I've always tried to focus on one area, sometimes that doesn't work, but try not to get overwhelmed on the whole. You did best by stepping away for awhile, keep it fun.

See you at PP2018! :)

I miss the Dodge :(
You and me both. New owner drove it like a hot rod and trashed the tranny. Been sitting for 2 years now, kinda like his rig sitting for 3+ years with me.

I’ve been working on organizing garage and getting the 40 trail rig ready to sell. Need to free up funds for the 55’s, and get some driveway room. Bought a 12 ton press to put the front wheel studs into the rotors and hubs. Getting geared up for a major push. Pig Party 18 will be here soon!

My oldest son gave me this white board to keep track of my projects. The visual helps me remember the plan. Got my campsite for PP18. Now the race is on.

My son pulled the pics from the net. I am caretaker to 3 40’s, 2 55’s, 2 60’s, and a 100 series. Sometimes hard to keep up with all of them. Helps me focus a little better, plus it feels good to cross things off of the lists. Funny thing, my daughter-in-law thought they were all the same series, just a different view. My 6 year old grand daughter knew the difference :).

Got my passenger side knuckle done. Starting drivers side tomorrow. Spent some time at NAPA getting lines ordered for the power steering/hydroboost set up. Finally feels like progress is being made. Long time coming!
