I'm interested in this info, so keep it coming. Also, my dad's 84 SR5 is a long bed, not a 4Runner. I know it sounded that way...

Your Dad's 84 SR5 is really not a mystery. All SR5's, at least for 89-94, have delay wipers. SOME had cruise as cruise was not a standard-it was an option. Cant explain the seats or AC other than the SR5 package might have changed for those years before 89. Toyota seems to have made some significant electronic changes in the late 80's because part numbers will break at that segment.

I had to order a new, SR5, non cruise, tilt wheel wiper switch from Cdan because the one from govt.mule was not an intermittent switch.

As soon as it arrives (ordered yesterday), I will provide the part number and start the write up with detailed pics and explanation LOL!!!

I think the 84 SR5's were a bit odd as they were probably still figuring out what was what...

I also know a guy with an 84 SR5 4Runner that has soft "oh $#!T" handles...?

What is the difference between delay wipers and regular?

All pickups through 95 are listed as "Hilux" in the Infinity Parts system at work.

I believe that regular have two settings: low and high. "Delay" wipers have three settings: intermittent, low and high. Also part of the knob twists with different positions that adjust the intermittent speed. Intermittent means an actual delay between wipes.

I am not sure what part references you mean by Infinity. Perhaps it is a Toyota reference?

I was just saying that typically 1- Pickups in the USA are NOT called Hiluxes and 2- I have never seen a Toyota Hilux for sale at a Toyota dealer. Granted, I am not claiming to know what every dealer has sold ( : Just that in my experience, Hilux is not used to describe a Toyota truck.

Infiniti is the most common system used by auto parts stores. Oreillys (my workplace) has the newest version. Im not totally impressed, but it does make simple parts so much easier to locate for odd ball vehicles.

My 84 has so called delay wipers. First setting is adjustable, then you have 'low' and then 'high'

I wish they would go faster
