Thanks. I have never really done body work before, just always been a grease monkey. At the tech school I went to there were the bondo bitches and the diesel dicks. So learning a lot on this project.

I'm in the same boat. I hate bondo. Give me grease.

So today we cleaned out the shop. Dust from sanding was everywhere. Spent half the day cleaning. We then spent the rest of the day building a "paint booth" in the shop. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE AND F@$ 2020!

It all started with a simple sanding job. Then I saw the tiny rust hole. I started poking it with a pick.

Then I welded the tiny hole. As I was grinding the weld down to be be flush, I noticed there was a small crack where I was grinding. Got the pick again and started digging at it. Hunks of bondo kept coming up. So I kept digging. Now it is a 3"x3" rust spot that bondo was just filled over......

God damn it. Well hopefully Zac has an extra 60 fender laying around or else this will be getting 2 new front fenders from SOR.

Why not patch it?

There's more. That's just where I decided to stop digging. A whole new fender is going to cost like $250 from SOR. Well I also believe Zac has an extra fender. I think he was saying something about it a couple days ago.

Yep.... rusted all the way through.

This is why I keep telling myself that rolling the 60 was the best thing to happen.

So solution. Pay Zac $250 for the rust free fender. Now I will just have to order another gallon of the Lizard Skin to do the inside of this fender. It is quite nice being to walk out back and find what I need.

Does Zac have any 60 series driveshaft flanges by any chance? I need both t-case ones.

Finally got some primer laid down.

There are some spots that will need to be sanded and smoothed out with bondo. You can see one spot by the lock hole in the first picture. Not much, but got to keep it looking nice since we are going to use this for Zac's website when it is completed.

So the rolled truck Goss, a guy in Jackson, Wyoming built that before Jason got his hands on it.

It was pretty funky with the custom leaf hangers. I would see it around town and was always like, uhhhhh wtf man, that is funky and tall! To be honest, I really don’t think he knew what he was doing at all with the suspension or the engine swap. There was something else he did that was super funky with the exhaust or snorkel or something, I don’t recall exactly this is going on 10yrs ago now but it stood out and made you say, my gawd man what were you thinking!? I think he ran the exhaust up the a-pillar like a snorkel and the whole side of the truck was black from soot.

Cheers

Yep Wyoming ran the exhaust out the front fender. I know Jason fixed that. He also put 5100s on it and made some sway bars for it to help with the lift. The sway bars and rear shocks weren't on it when I picked it up. I am going to get some sway bars for it and probably get bigger shocks for the rear to help with the body roll.

Now as far as the engine goes.... I need going to back off the air/fuel screw because it rolls coal in every gear and overheats the engine going over the mountain passes here in Colorado. Also need to do something about the fuel filters. The one rubs on the throttle linkage. It actually came loose one day driving down the interstate. I have already fixed the braking issue on it (dual diaphragm booster from Racer and 94 4Runner calipers). Now it locks the 37s up . That ended up costing me an H55F. They don't like getting all that torque to them because you had to down shift to help the brakes stop. I also had to fix the plastic 2"-1" step down adapter to the lower radiator hose. That caved in on itself while I was on way to a camping trip. Plastic just wasn't meant to take 220° for long. I made one using steeling pipe fittings.

Ya Jason did do a lot to it and I have not seen it since Wyoming had it.

Sounds and looks like you are getting it worked out, new body looks killer.

Cheers

Got some more sanding and primer laid down tonight. Ordered another gallon of Monstaliner today. We decided that we would lay a coat of it on the underside of the tub and make all the trim match the outside paint. I think it will be good with the black carpet, black seats, and headliner.
