You didn't have rear shocks?! That will deficiently not help. I would either do what you said with a 4" kit and go back to original frame brackets or go SOA. If you're going to go SOA it's a lot of work to get it right.

So the carpet came in. You can see it has a nice clear plastic backing. You can also see it gas a very thick weave so I don't have to worry about dirt ever working down through it. I started sound deadening the tub floor this evening.

Jarod, you gotta name this thing. I'm thinkin "The Rollover Special", or maybe "Pancake".

What are you using for soundproofing material?
Noico. Using a heat gun to warm up the metal and then the adhesive on the back of the panel.

After having to miss a weekend because of work, I got back at it today. Continued on with the sound deadening/heat insulation. Got the transmission (that will be later because I gotta cut some to make room for the AA OD box shifter) and inside firewall to finish up in the front. After that it will be the rear wheel wells and finishing off the other half of the bed. Then Zac will be able to start the carpet install.

So here is the update. I have officially went sound deadening crazy. Tonight I double padded the inside firewall, driver's/front passenger's floor, and transmission tunnel. Zac keeps encouraging this behavior. Told me the more I put down, the better the carpet job will turn out. Who am I
I to argue with the guy who works at the top upholstery shop in Colorado Springs? I did order 2 gallons of Lizard Skin sound deading spray to do the engine side of the firewall/engine bay, undercarriage, and rear wheel wells. A few people talked to me about it so I figured why not try it. Can't hurt right? So hopefully I will be spraying that this weekend. Still waiting for more sound pads to come in for the for the roof.

Well started laying down the Lizard Skin on the undercarriage today. Got 1 coat on everything I wanted to get. Figured I would let have the night to settle in and will do a second coat in the morning. Got the whole floor doubled padded. So tomorrow it is the roof. Once that is done I will start the transfer over work.

Today I got a second coat of the Lizard Skin on. Finished it off with their Top Coat. Got into the headliner and got sound deadening mats put in. I still gotta finish up with heat insulation on the roof.

Not much progress tonight. Started opening new parts, always our favorite time. Got the rear wiring harness under the tailgate ran. Got the lift side harness ran. Finished the the roof off. So not much progress. More of a pause to walk around it and get a feel for what I want to do next. I'm feeling like the dash was speaking to me. Get that started because that will take some time. So an electric heater and pulling the dash out of the red one is in my very near future.

Wiring, my least favorite thing. Wanna do mine?

:hillbilly:

Well still going to town on it. Finally pulled Gossamer into the bay. Cut off all the body mounts, got the front fenders/wheel wells off, doors, and rear tail gate/hatch. Tomorrow I will be working on the engine. Just going to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets and tuning back the air/ fuel screw on. Also will start the cab heater project.

Looking good though! Trying to get it done before christmas?
Yes that's what we are aiming for. I took the rest of this week off to put a couple of those 12 hr days.

Zac got some paint laid down today. Loving the color. My brother got some Lizard Skin on the front fenders. I did some work on the engine. Successful day overall. Tomorrow we will be swapping the frame from tub to tub. All the wiring should get finished after that is complete. Oh yeah the cab heater came in yesterday. So wired it up to run it and see how hot the exhaust and heater output get. It made a difference in the shop temperature when it ran. Didn't even use a gallon of diesel running full blast all day.
