How does a pig horn button come off so I can remove the steering wheel? Gotta a parts pig ('76) with a nicer wheel than the nice pig ('75)...but the horn button didn't want to come off easy...

Thanks!

The inner brass screws that hold the horn buttons on the back of each spoke hold the center pad on, you can drill the heads off if they're rusty. Then you just remove the center nut, sit in the seat, and rock it like a maniac. Be careful not to hit your self in the mouth with the wheel when it does come off :frown: You can leave the nut slightly threaded to reduce the risk ... I've never had much luck with pullers though.

after removing the horn button
I've had luck with leaving the nut flat with the end of the stud, and wacking with a brass hammer while pulling.

Thank, Marshall, that's a good thread. I've had a 60 wheel off, back the nut off and wiggle, but I just couldn't see how to get the horn button off the pig wheel. And, I have a puller if it gets obstinate :D
