Just put a rebuilt 1F in my 1973 FJ40.I am using mallory dual point ignition. Checked that the nub at bottom of distributor is long enough to drive oil pump.Had good oil pressure when first started. But after she warms it drops down to marginal on the gauge.I worry about this bcause my last engine ground itself to pieces with low oil pressure.im also not getting much up to the rockers.Any hep aprreciated Thanks

Worth reading this..
In a nutshell; check your oil pressure gauge is working properly before anything else. Other suggestions worth reading there too.

+1 for a direct read oil pressure gauge - transducer's can lie or be mistaken.

Isn't there an adjustment for the oil pressure?

Use a good oil treatment supplement Energy Release comes to mind.

I like 20-50 in mine but I use a block heater in the winter, the 85-140 in gear boxes is like pushing an oar threw peanut butter in below zero weather - but after moving like 10' its back to normal.

Maybe they didn't put new parts in the oil pump - some folks idea of a rebuild in new rings and a spray can of paint.
