When I get the money I am going to put an eaton front and rear in mine. I like 12v better than air

Finally sourced one of these this morning.

Bimetal temp sensor vacuum up revs when engine is cold. Not made by Toyota anymore, they were also on 1982 to 1987 Corolla 4k engine, 1300cc Starlets, 60-62 series 4x4's and Liteace vans. Found one at a wrecker on a Corolla for $20.00.

Spent a another hour cleaning, priming & painting bolts, on the home ward stretch now. Need to get a couple small cur-clips tomorrow, and a smaller nozzle that bolts into the water pump housing where the heater hose connects so I can connect the water return from the turbo directly onto it.

Also the rear diff is now finished with Lokka installed.

This is what's left of my parts list, not much more to go. The alternator bolts onto the engine mount and the along with adjuster top bracket, so that will be 3 pieces gone, then the 2 stays from the block to the bell housings, the throttle cable bracket to be bolted onto the inlet manifold and the breather pipe from the rocker cover to the inlet tubes, and last the inlet air tubes onto the turbo.

And the power steering pump and bracket with adjuster tension pulley.

Well the turbo side of the engine pretty much finished, engine mount with alternator is about the last items to bolt on. On the other side I just need to spanner check the bolts, bolt on the power steering pump along with the engine mount and then install the vacuum lines.

Mate it's looking great

It would almost be a shame to fire that thing and get it dirty .
Sarge

It's a 1986 model, that approx 28 years old, now it didn't have anywhere near as much paint & ceramic protection as it has now. It will be only clocking up around 5,000klm a year so if I look after it should last another 30. But I will need to buy another 12HT for parts as in 30 years there will be done available?

Hey Robert... Do you still have the 2H-powered cruiser you presently use as your avitar?

As I recall you achieved a high standard of appearance with that engine too..

If so, can you show us a current pic looking into the engine bay so we can see how those coatings have faired over the years?

Will do, I am up at the beach house this weekend and will take a photo. I did not use any ceramic coating back then but it still in pretty good nick, the sump is quite good, the power steering pump is due for a clean and repaint thou?

I installed the rubber plugs on the heater pipes as I am only using the them as support for intakes that cross over the top of the engine. In actual fact I probably could just leave the heater pipe off altogether?
