Installed left hand side engine mount that also supports the alternator. As I am not using air-con I did away with that upper bracket but had to fab up a altered alternator adjustment arm.

Finally picked up my new ARB Bull Bar, they had been storing it for the last 6 months, I then dropped it off at the Sand Blaster's. From there it goes to get hot dipped in Gal and then back to Ace Coatings to get primed & coated with a semi-gloss black.

Your getting lots done that engine looks great

Here is the 60 series steering drag link & steering rods and top knuckle arms linkages, 75 series universal joint and a 80 series intermediate steering shaft with rag link and universal joint on each end ( plate will be cut off). The rag link on the 80 series shaft is the same as a 40 series so it gives me plenty of combinations to play with.

The power steering box is the early model 60 series. The last photo is a 40 series steering column and the bearing which will give it support.

Hi robbert,

just read your thread start to finish. Compliments on the skills and knowledge. I wish I had your patience. And do love the chassis btw

Next on the agenda is to marry the 75 series bell housing to the reconditioned 5 speed transmission and fit the disc brake to the rear of the transfer case.

Etch prime the gal chassis and paint it black

Then I will assemble the front & rear axles housings to the chassis with the 80 series suspension arms.

Fit rear Lokka diff and front Harrop e-locker diff.

Fit rear hubs with new bearing kit with solid rotor disc's, install rear axles and then install the rebuilt brake calipers & pads.

Next rebuild front knuckles and use 60 series steering arms, use SST tool to set shims, fit new slotted disc rotors and rebuilt calipers , new birfield's and bearing kit, new AISIN locking manual hubs and 60 series steering linkages.

Install engine with attached 5 speed gearbox and fit cross member to the chassis to support the 5 speed box.

Rebuild universal joints on front & rear tail shafts and fit.

Install 60 series power steering.

Should have a rolling chassis.

Picked up the ARB bull bar from the galvanisers and dropped it off at the power coating company to get coated in a black satin finish. When I got the bull bar gal'ed I did not get it quenched after the hot dip as the power coater's don't like the chromate coating that's added to water bath. Should be ready by the end of the week.

Spent the day sourcing parts, found some of the chassis side brackets that the front bumper bar attaches too (these are riveted onto the very front of each side of the chassis where the front bar connects) and were missing on my gal chassis, also a radiator surround/holder. Also got a couple rusted front (left & right hand side) guards. Grinded the front guard brackets off as I need them for my fibreglass ones. The left hand battery holder should show up by Monday also.

Will have all the guard brackets, radiator surround, chassis side extension & battery holder all sand blasted and gal hot dipped by next week.

The only thing missing now is the inner front axles shafts, have new CV joints. I just don't want to strip my current gal'd chassis to much, just pick up the tub and drop it on the new chassis.

Finally got back my new ARB 40 series bullbar, sand blasted, hot dipped in gal, epoxy primmer and re-powder coated black satin, you can just see under the powder coat the ripple of the gal hot dip. Managed to save the ARB sticker also so I was able to re-attached it?
