Fresh stock, PM if you like a set. =)

Gentlemen. Is the new part # a solid metal piece, or plastic? I recently had mine break at a drive through car wash (I know, I know). The one that broke was plastic (aftermarket?)

Looking for a more robust option that I don’t have to worry about..

Got my shipment from @ranma21 super quick (2 days shipped to me) and got mine installed. Took me about 20 minutes. No issues with removing my old wiper arm, but my truck has been a CA and TX truck its entire life. I think this little mod is well worth the money. My OG wiper arm was hanging below the seal of the rear window and just bothered me even though it was fully functional.

Newer Lexus/Toyota model pretty much all uses rear plastic wiper arm now and they all perform wells without breaking, aftermarket arms is a different story apparently.

Picked one of these up through Ian as well. Fast shipping and a 10 minute job. Thanks for helping spend my money fellas!

JDM Wiper Arm kits available now on Cruiserpatch.com:

FYI, this wiper blade hooks on to the wiper arm pretty weakly and though it certainly won’t come off during normal use I had mine forcibly removed by an automatic car wash. They bought me a new one, but I’d strongly recommend taping the blade to the arm (like below) before going through any automatic car wash.

FYI as a follow up I lost my wiper blade to the car wash this weekend. The good news is the wipe blade is available in the US so I got one ordered from my local dealer and will need to figure out how to not lose this one, i.e. tape like you did or a zip tie.

I bought this one:

You have to modify the arm to put pressure on the window. Where it pivots, there are two plastic 'arms' inside that need to be filed down to allow it to compress beyond the original position. I stuck a round skinny file in my drill and had it done in a few minutes. You'll recognize what needs to be filed when you look inside.

For $12... Sure, whatever. I wouldn't have paid anymore for it and if I knew about it prior, wouldn't have bought it at all. The plastic looks like it'll be chalky and s***ty soon, the blade doesn't look like a universal replacement. When it inevitably gets faded, or no longer holds pressure, or the blade goes bad, I'll just replace it with my already repainted, Rain-X blade wearing OEM arm and not think twice about it.

How is your rear wiper holding up? The previous owner installed one on my LC and it doesn't apply pressure evenly on the glass, so it streaks and makes a terrible noise. I'm thinking it's a similar situation to yours. When you filed down those plastic 'arms', are they are on the piece that bolts up to the wiper motor, or are the 'arms' on the plastic piece that holds the wiper itself?

Must be aftermarket arm. The Genuine Toyota kit I carry has no fitment issue and works great, 0 mod required, works beautifully.

It must be. It's been driving me crazy for the past year, and when I finally got around to looking into why, I found out that I have the JDM style one. Before I just replaced the rubber but it didn't change the wiping performance so I figured it was something wrong with the arm.

Might have to go ahead and get a OEM replacement.

Let me know if you need one, have the kit in stock ready to ship =)

Crapped out after a short term, never held consistent pressure against the glass so it wiped as well as a potty training toddler. Back to the original.

Mine, that I bought from @ranma21, is still going strong after 1 year. I must admit though, we didn't get much rain this past year in South TX so I didn't have very many opportunities to use it.

Appreciate the update.

Ended up ordering one of his last night. Hoping to finally get a wiper that works well!

I upgraded mine in July 2019 and it’s still going strong and clears the glass like a champ. I think I may have replaced the blade once in that time.

Edit: parts from Toyota not aftermarket

Do yourself a favor and order OEM from Patch. I thought I'd save a few bucks (my rationale was that I have two 100s so I had to buy two) and bought the aftermarket ones from Ebay. Absolute CRAP, the plastic is faded and brittle after only a couple of years and they don't create a smooth arc across the window, so all they do is smear. Worthless. Thankfully I kept the two OEM ones so I'm going to give them a coat of paint and buy new rubber for them.
