I just replaced the prototype on my 80 that have been on for the last 6 years. duh The heims needed replacing a long time ago as they are a serviceable part.
The update was long overdue but because I could not keep them in stock I never could get them. Im happy to finally get the production part on my 80.

Phil, can you purchase these separately without the kit? I would buy just the heims to throw in the box for when I need to replace them.

Yes

Are greaseable heims available? Both of mine rattle badly.

I've installed my LCP brackets, what a great product! Had to raise them as high as possible and the sway bar doesn't quite reach the same level as the stock one.

Immediately the rear end felt tighter and more controlled. Also installed a whiteline sway bar.

Question @LandCruiserPhil - I have the metal sleeves in the bushings but when I attempt to torque to 50 ft lbs per post 324, they start to bend. Did I misread the that post? Also how much thread on the bottom bolt should go all the way through? I have barely one, any more and the bracket starts to bend.

Lastly, is my rear sway bar now too low? I do have 33s on and am going to a true 35s in a few weeks.

Text book install below
Ideally you want the sway bar parrella to the lower control arm to avoid rock contact.
I find using a 3/4 wrench along the side of the heim will keep it centered when tightening.
You can remove the lower jam nut if needed to make the link shorter

Grinding the sway bar is not needed for clearance with our links

Below is the finished product going forward all parts get a 5 tank zinc coating.

Our links will never look like this no matter how hard you wheel if they do contact for replacement

The first 2 rounds of links sold out before completed. Use the Lay-A-way link if you want in on the next run currently underway. Clickable Lay-A-way link
Lol....
I had to double check my set up. Looks like I have it correct..(short pointing the rear)
Thx for the clarification.😎

Same here. I’m on my second set and they’re clicking and squeaking.

I replaced both heims with ones from McMaster Carr for $12.47 each and they've been super quiet.

Nice, thank you! How long have you had them on with no issues? Does that include wheeling trips?

10 months. A few trips but nothing hardcore.

My original heim joint on the passenger failed not long after installation. I tried greasing it and it loosened up slightly. A few months later both were rattling badly and soon after that they were squealing with normal driving.

After installing the heim joints from McMaster Carr it was easy to see why they were making so much noise. Both balls were seized in the body of the joint.

That’s exactly how mine were. Starting off with a clicking/rattle, then squealing/squeaking. Once removed, a lot of resistance. Mine had been lasting about 1 wheeling season between the 2 different sets. Good to see on the McMaster carr ones. I went ahead and ordered a couple, thanks again!

I looked at all the different options at McMaster Carr and a few other places. I liked the McMaster Carr provided all the specs and the price was right. Stuff from ebay, amazon, and other offroad sites are reselling questionable components with markup and hype.

Just got them today. Didn’t realize they’d be FK’s! That’s pretty sweet. Crossing my fingers it all works out. I’ll report back next month when I get back from Moab.
