Killer!

Sorry if I missed it... Did you build or plan to build the bracket inside for the cooler?

Very creative. Made me go try my sliding window. I can get into the fridge in the top part, but if I was digging deep I would be in trouble.

the plan is there just havent built it yet, that will have to wait till i get back from south africa, still have to get an extension cord for the welder then the projects start again. the plan is to build a fridge mount that will be welded to the third row seat brackt, this will allow me to remove it with 4 bolts if i dont need it but still have a sturdy platform for it when were bouncing around on the roads. Nice thing about the flip up door is i wont have to buy the fridge drawer system or the slid lock system, just attach the bracket and go.

Cool. Well... I think its a killer mod. I love it. Wish I still had the back half of my 55 to do it :) Food for thought. Well done.

Very well thought-out and executed...killer mod! Now you need one of those Cruisercrap bottle openers mounted on the lid! :)

Another thought. LR Discoverys have a plastic frame with a nylon mesh mounted on the headliner above the passengers. They look to be the right size for you to mount it on the inside of the metal panel, great place to keep small items handy.

I like the net idea ill have to look into that.

Went out on a over nighter up near Mt Baker and did alot of wash board roads, the door held great and after some minor adjustments to the latches will be perfect. I still need to clean up the brackets but it will have to wait till i return from my trip. While camping i cam up with the idea to run a water spicket to the window (another project) Mount the water tank under the cruiser and run the shurflow pump in the quarter pannel. then a simple water spiket mounted in the corner of the window near the fridge so easy access to water as well.

on the way back we hit a crazy rain storm and no leaks so its water right :):o

heres a few pics

Looks good Mike, I'm anxious to see it close up and see how it all works.

Where near Mt. Baker did you go? You around over Labor Day or the next weekend for an overnight?

Dude you read my mind. I have two swing outs and a ladder, then a hatch and a tailgate to open just to get to my freezer fridge. It's a PITA when the duo partner says... "would you mind grabbing me a water out of the fridge?"

I've been sliding the window open every now and then, since our fridge is mounted right handside.

thanks for the inspiration! I think another mod needs to happen soon on our rig!

Do you have any closeups of the piston mounting? Its all plastic back there. Did you go through to the body?

I leave tomarrow night for south africa and will be back on sept 11 after that im here for the year. and would be more then down with a over nighter. The girl friend and i went up yesterday and found some cool new spots to camp. ill pm you when i get back.

Mike

That thats real cool Mike! Good job! Keep us informed on how it all holds up after repeated use and abuse.

Don't mean to hijack a thread but LX450, how do you like your eezi-awn rooftop tent? They seem to be very durable looking but wondering if you have pros, cons, etc.

Thanks and cheers

That looks great! I wish my rear windows opened up like that. Maybe they would be useful for once.

turned out better than most expected. Good job.

How about a few close ups of how it' sealed when shut when you get time.

I like it a lot...can you get any more detailed pictures on how you did the seal and the hardware?

Thanks.

haha

i love how some people "kinda doubted" this mod, until they saw the finished product

looks great man i like it

I've got to say this:

When I saw this, I thought it was an incredibly stupid mod. And now, having seen the final project, I can see how wrong I was. Great work!

Awsome!:beer::beer::beer::cheers:
When are going to be back in Prescott? I spend some time up there at my Moms place.
