Real Milage fj62 ls 5.3 swap (1 Viewer)

I have 1988 fj62 with ls swap 5.3 / 4l60e.
Gets 10MPG max on fwy. 33" tires and roof rack.
I see users claiming 15 MPG average. Could it be that bad with the tires nad rack?

Was the engine tuned locally?

Several factors come to play. Is the torque converter locking up? Is the engine able to run in closed loop?

No. it's was completely stock 99k miles from a 2005 Silverado. Just removed the vats

You need to get a tune done and as previously said verify tourqe converter lock up.

15 mpg very consistent on 33s. 35s mileage has gone down

i get 10-12 in town and 14 or so on the highway. I drive in town like a 17 year old though. When my daughter is in the car i get about 12-13 in town
