Aus-Lux

Cheers from downunder.........just thought that I'd join up to see how yoos Yanks go "wheelin".
I've got a '97 LN106 single cab Lux...It's got all the regular stuf like air lockers, XP9500, turbo diesel, rock sliders,
upgraded springs and such. We have mostly slippery, rutted and extremely closed in skinny tracks.
Some stuff is nasty steep rocky tracks...other stuff is deep muddy and twisty inbetween big trees and thick scrub.
Here's my Lil Lux...........;)

1991 4x4 DLX shortbed pickup.

Pretty much stock....

But I did remove the 22R-E and G tranny to install this 2LT-E/R series tranny. Only took a year (OK, 5 weeks of actual work, but a year on the calendar). Pretty nice getting 30-35 mpg on biodiesel, plus it has more power and torque than I could ever want. Lots of people have had problems with the 2LT-E heads, but so far I've been lucky (knock on wood). I'm sure someday I'll have to replace the head with a 3L part, but so far...

Other than that it's got Aisin hubs (yeah, like that's hard work!), 4 runner bucket seats, and 10" subs (need big speakers when you don't have AC).

It's got about 220K on the odometer, 15K since the diesel swap. Drives like it's new.

Plans? For the immediate future: none. The body is still in WAY too good of shape to wheel it, but due to an unfortunate couple of months without a tailpipe, there is some rust on the rear left fender, in a couple years it might peek through. For that reason (and because I want one), in a while (probably after I've got the HJ-45 restored) I'm planning on doing a SAS up front, and finding a double cab body/bed to finish the job of making it a Hilux (yes, I know hilux trucks never had 2LT-Es). But like I said, that's a couple years away at least.

Right now, all I want to do is listen to my turbo whine, smell my exhaust, and go 100 miles before the fuel level even comes off the peg. :flipoff2:

Dan

PS-I'm glad I took those pictures when I did, I doubt I wash it even twice a year! It sure cleans up nice, you just can't beat the Toyota paint!

1990 toyota (obviously)extended cab pickup.

1990 toyota pickup
-3 inch body lift with 4 inch suspension clearing 37" interco super swamper IROKS
-bushwacker pocketstyle flares that were heated up and bent to allow me to cut as much out of the body to allow the most clearance.
-i put a warn front bumper on it but due to body lift i had to cut and add 3 inches to bracket along with making the bracket thicker.
-ive got a i think its a 6k puond winch on the front.
-other than the lift the suspension is stock.
-interior has beenmodified. i cut out the storage in the back and flattened the floor so i could put 2 10 inch diamond audio woofers, and still have the seats.
-it has been converted to sr5 and i have made custom door panels.

My 1983 truck

Hello everyone. My name is Tony and i live and offroad in Alaska. I came across your sweet yoda site and thought i would join. If your woundering what it's like to wheel in Alaska just visit ALASKA4X4NETWORK.COM

83 trk (4cyl.)
All-Pro Extreme lift (6inch)
All-Pro Winchbumper
All-Pro Flatbed kit
Warn M8000 (front)
Champion 8000 (rear)
ARB Air Lockers
Optima yellow top
5.29 gears
38-14.5 Thornbirds (i prefer boggers)
Wheel spacers
2 inch body lift

Thats pretty much it but theres a lot more on the wish list to do!!!!

Well i originally bought the truck for $350. It had 131,000 miles on it. I had to put a new motor in it because of the engine knock. It came with no lift and 31's on it. So i put a 4inch trail master lift on and some 33 bf muds. Then i took the bed off, put a 2inch body lift, threw some 35 boggers on, put in the air lockers and 5.29's. After that i put the All-pro extreme lift on. Now the last thing i finally did (with a bunch of help from friends through out this build) was put the All-pro bumper and flatbed kit on along with the 38's. This is how she sits today.

The first few pics are when i just put the 33's on and the 4inch lift. The rest of them are present pics.

Here's mine: SASed 00 Tundra SR5 V8

Specs: 00 Tundra SR5 V8 auto. SASed in 2004. Was in accident where an uninsured motorist went over the center divide and took out my front driver side (suspension, drivetrain and body were damaged). Truck was paid off and I took the money from the ins. co. and paid for the SAS.

Engine/drivetrain: stock. Only mod is a JBA exhaust.

Suspension: 5100's all around. 12" in the front, 14" in the rear. Front leafs are Rancho 4" Chevy lift springs, Rear leafs are 63" chevy (4x4) w/AAL.

Rear axle: toy tundra housing, stock shafts, 4.88's, lockright locker.

Front axle: D44 from wide track cherokee, 4.88's, lock right locker, X-over steering(switched from hi-steer), everything from steering knuckles to hubs are from a chevy. Currently in the process of swapping out the front axle for a HP44 from a 78 F250, mounting the ram for hydro assist and swapping out the steering box for a tapped box. Still debating on running X-over or hi-steer.
